Yeh I thought it was great. And if season 1 is anything to go by, the concept is only going to spiral out from here.Yooo that first episode was one of the most brilliant and most batshit insane things I've ever seen. Laying out all the instances of plane crashes because one of the pilots was afraid to speak up to avoid confrontation made my blood run cold. the NTBS guy who probably thought this was going to be a joke was pretty much left speechless "...yeah I think ur into something there". Creating a mock airport just for the pilots not talk to each other in the lounge. . Nathan and moody talking on the bed with their shoes off. Filming the pilot struggling to close the ironing board. I could go on and on. I'm late to the Nathan fielder experience but this shit is nuts and the guy is obviously a genius
I haven't seen Nathan miss yet. It's eerie. I haven't finished "Nathan For You", but "The Curse" is easily the best Lynchian show I've seen since Twin Peaks. This is either going to be really awesome, or really bad. It can't be anything in between.
The Curse is definitely worth checking out. It might not be a reality show but because it's a show about a show it has that meta aspect to it that his other projects have where it's about what goes into the making of something.I haven't watched The Curse yet, mainly because I'm mostly interested in Nathan's reality TV shows. But sounds like I'd enjoy it.
Either way, The Rehearsal season 2 has been great so far. Definitely better than the first (though that first episode of season 1 was excellent). Can't wait to see more.
It's kind of fascinating how much of Fielder's work centers on the idea of 'I'm a weird guy and I don't know what to do about it.' He's obviously leaning into it, but there's also this sense of obsessive self-examination that feels like it is at least partially grounded in something genuine.Episode 2 had some absolutely classic lines. That one about how sincerity is overrated as it punishes those who can't imitate it floored me.

Seriously. I just finished the season and, just like![]()
Unprecedented level of commitment to the bit
Seriously. I just finished the season and, just likeJsisto , I was shocked I didn't see that coming. Fielder is just on another level.
I truly don't know where the bit ends and his true self begins. When I was watching this interview with him on CNN, it genuinely seems like he might just be on the spectrum.
Like, clearly he's self-aware and understands what gets laughs, and probably plays that up a bit, but I also think it's not really an act.
"Comedian/737 pilot" feels more appropriateWatching that interview and seeing "Nathan Fielder : Comedian" feels like the biggest understatement imaginable at this point. He's clearly evolved into something else…..as far as what that is, I honestly don't know. But I admire the hell out of him for his bravery and drive. What a dude….
It is out there and unique. But it is not traditional television. Most people I think find it boring. It is also no clarksons farm.Crazy to me how little talk there is around this. It's far and away the best television in like 10 years easily it's not even close and nobody is talking about it lol
