Oblivion

Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
I've seen a bunch of youtube clips for a while, but only recently did I get a chance to see a bunch of full fledged episodes. And man, this show's definitely a doozy. I definitely think it's a tad too gritty
Beecher actually bit off Robson's, well, you know
, yet that's particularly why it's an effective prison drama. Also shows how seriously fucked up prison life is. Series has been entertaining throughout, even though the show allows it's prisoners to have access to shit that you would think most people would know to be a bad idea. It's a pity that
Schillinger died relatively without too much suffering compared to all the shit he's caused throughout the show
, but yeah, pretty decent show.

Also, the episode regarding Adam Guenzel
getting beaten and raped by the Aryans
, did anyone else find themselves actually feeling sorry for him? I mean, the guy
raped a girl
, and made you think that he he deserved it, but it really makes you question whether anyone deserves such a thing. And yes, I know that was probably the intention of the writers, but at first I didn't think it would work.

I was pretty into the show up until the end of the first half of Season 4. After the episode
where Said kills Adebisi
, everything kind of went to shit. It just felt like they went sooo far over the top, I had no interest to watch anymore. The thing that really broke me was
Dr. Nathan deciding, suddenly, that maybe Ryan really did have her husband killed and all sorts of other awful shit to show his love.
Come on! Soooo ridiculous.

The first 3½ seasons are pretty good, though not easy to watch. I'll force myself through the rest of it some day... maybe.

Actually if you watch the rest of the show a lot of it makes sense, see
Said always considered himself flawless, and killing Adebisi brought out his human side. They touch on that later, and he realizes that he IS no more than a human, he takes responsibility for his mistakes, instead of trying to act perfect he tries to fix his flaws. The entire process with that part is just showing the whole grass-being-greener effect. In actuality I think the last season is probably the best of the entire show, you finally hate who you hate and love who you love as characters. Keller for example, fuck he is a dick. And as for Gloria well, it isn't so much the Ryan really loves her, that much is obvious, he does love her and she admits it, but it doesn't change anything for the rest of the show. If you want to REALLY focus on the last few seasons you need to focus on how Ryan becomes 'weak' finally trying to save his brother

There is a lot more to it, but I don't want to make a giant amount

Oz is just an amazing show, I cried at points (eg: last season... oh god... don't skip ahead! buy DVDs and watch in order, it makes the show SO much better and more impacting!

Some things I could go without...
no one needed to see Luke Perry full frontal....

Still, grats on watching the show, keep watching, its awesome ^^

Some of the song cues in season 5 are a good example of this. :lol

Also, come on I know more of you out there watched this show. :/

Oh, man. Saw one of the best parts in the series.
James Robson becoming Cutler's bitch after getting kicked out of the Aryan Brotherhood. The guy is a complete toolbag, with all the shit he's done throughout the series, so it was immensely satisfying to see him dressed in drag and have several instances of sexual humilation and moments where he seems like he's gonna cry.
:lol fuckin awesome.

That was one of the best moments in the entire series ^^

Wow... this thread revived when I come back when it was one of the last things I took part in O.o eerie

Started watching this series as well the last month or so, lot of familiar faces if you've already seen The Wire, Bodie, Carver, Rawls etc :D

i used to watch this shit as a freshman in high school. really fucked me up. it seems like i stopped watching it at the right time.

Started to watch it since The Shield and The Wire are both over now. Liking it for the most part, although the scenes with the wheelchair guy (dude from Lost) overacting are kinda awkward. Also angry elephants sound off during any scenes with conflict.

Hated the finale. I missed the first few seasons, but most of what I saw was great. Not really one I want to go back and watch, though. A little too gritty. I do love being able to point to someone in just about any crime drama and say to my wife, "See that guy? Oz."

Goes without saying, and the reason my wife would never watch the show.

There's a cable channel for little kids, Noggin, that Chris Meloni has done a few promo spots for, in which he reads a story or talks about books. Even if all you know him from is SVU, it's an odd choice, but I keep seeing him as Keller.

Yeah, I get that with a few actors from OZ. Mainly JK Simmons, who I always see as Schillinger.
