They have released 2 new podcasts so far this fall.
I think he means a real series rather than the one-offs though. I think they will probably do a real series next year. They've at least hinted at it, but Ricky will be busy doing some films and such so maybe it won't happen.

Yeah Ricky's doing his first film he is writing and & directing and not just acting in next year.

I love Ricky's laugh, one of the best laughs ever.
I'm more a fan of when Karl is going on about something ridiculous, and you can just faintly Ricky gleefully giggling, trying his best to hold it in.

XFM shows are way better......Steven Merchant's stories are way underrated too. I love hearing about his problems with girls and such.
I actually think Steven is the funniest and cleverest of the bunch. He's got an instant, razor-sharp wit that I love.

A bit of a bump.....

NME is launching its new radio station with whats probaby going to be the last ever show that Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington will record together. Its a 2 hour show featuring chat and their favourite tracks.

http://radio.nme.com/

Its repeated throughout the week and the next airing is in 45 minutes.

Rad. Too bad it's streaming only though.

It'll be available to download somewhere, I'm sure.

Well he's not as loud and obnoxious as Ricky, so he doesn't get as much attention.

Thanks, this is a nice surprise which makes me actually look forward to work tomorrow. A bitter aftertaste, though, no more podcasts? What will happen to old Pilkers, he won't step out of the limelight, surely?

Google for pilkipedia, i found a high quality rip on their forums
Also, what a weird forum, seemingly taking the 'performance' of Karl a tad too seriously, critiquing him like it's their significant other.

I thought the NME show was pretty disappointing.

I think the entire dynamic of the group was best when Karl needed to do the shows, like on XFM. Now it's like...Karl obviously doesn't want to be there, and so it just kinda taints the shows. I say let him go. If you love him, set him free.

100s of hours of fun.
No kidding. Is there any form of recorded comedy out there that is as plentiful as the Ricky Gervais radio/podcast recordings? I'm still slogging my way through the 2nd Season of the XFM show since my last post in this thread, and I've still got a shit ton of radio, podcasts, and other Karl-related shit to go through :lol

Ricky really does get on my nerves sometimes, though. He gets so angry and childish towards Karl it's like David Brent is a real person :P When that happens, though, all I have to do is pop in some Office to be reminded why I love him.

I listened to all the podcasts again over the last couple of months. So funny. My favourite may be Karl saying who he'd take with him to a new planet.

Jamie Oliver, hahahaha.

I need to get the XFM shows.

The XFM shows have the greatest Ricky, Steve, Karl moments that they ever had. And there are many, many hours of these shows.... Going to go see Ricky's stand up show in LA in a month, with Karl Pilkington shirt in hand.

I'm halfway through their latest (and seemingly last) show from NME Radio. Pretty good thus far.

Discovered the podcast/xfm shows about 18 months ago... and the podcasts hold the record for most downloaded podcast, ever. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Cements Gervais' legacy in comedy. He's done television, radio, podcast all at the top comedic level, and his latest movies look very promising. Gervais has been one of the most influential people in my life actually, which might seem weird for him being a comedian, but as a person he has done a lot for a lot of people around the world. Someone that will be remembered for decades after he's done with his career. A class act.

What annoys me that there's no separate folder for podcasts in my Creative Zen, so I have to put it into the Music folder, and then I randomly get Ricky when I want to listen to music :(

I just listened to the Desert Island Discs podcast in the car.

While not hilarious, I fell a lot of respect for the man. He's a devout atheist, and isn't really afraid to let people know, unlike most atheists I know.

I also love his explanation for the subjects of his stand up, like racism, fascism, the handicapped etc, it's all about the context.

The bit I liked the most was when he went to a vip concert of David Bowies, and was asked if he would like to meet him. So him, Salman Rushdie and Greg Dyke chatted in his dressing room for a while.

The next day while chatting to his mate in the pub:

"So what did you get up to last night" asks his friend.
"Nothing" replies Gervais.

"I mean what are you going to say? Oh just hanging out with David Bowie and Salman Rushdie and Greg Dyke, what did you do?"

Just giving a heads-up

Ricky Gervais is getting the podcast band together again and sharpening his wits for one final confrontation with the world's favorite shaven monkey with a head like an expletive-laden orange.
His old partners from the "Guinness Book of World Records Most Downloaded Podcast of All-Time" -- Stephen Merchant and the wondrously dim Karl Pilkington will return for the fifth series.
The four half-hour episodes will hit iTunes on Sept. 16. Sadly, Gervais insists this will be the trio's final podcast effort. But both he and Pilkington made that prediction in the past.

dont listen then fool

cant wait for this. best podcast ever.

I'm actually gonna buy them, because I've never paid for any of the shows before and feel guilty. I just worry its gonna seem forced, Karl's heart doesn't seem in it.

I think Karl is generally the one most into and the one most consistently funny. If anything it seems to me Ricky is probably the one least inclined to do them simply because he is in such demand.

actually Dave is right. Pilky is least enthralled to do these. Ricky is the one that had to convince him to do it.

I saw wrong about the new shows, by the way. They were really good. They treated Karl like a person rather than an act, and it was better for it. Cos he comes out with crazy shit without being prompted.
