LTTP- Syphon Filter- Dark Mirror... this time, for PS2

Let me tell you an interesting story. Syphon Filter was my favorite PS1 series. Years passed and I awaited The Omega Strain with fervor... and was let down. Then Dark Mirror hit on the PSP, was critically acclaimed, but I couldn't play it because I don't care about portables.

But now I can, it came out almost two weeks ago to little fanfare. I just bought it, it caught my eye during a trip to Futureshop to get Heavenly Sword. I yelped with surprise. Got it home and it is great. I've only just started the game so I can't pick it apart, but even with the augmented (and very satisfying!) control scheme, the classic ''feel'' is there, and I like being Gabe. Even this imitation metrosexual Gabe. The mechanics are great and the level design feels thoughtful and tight again.

This PS2 version is lacking multi, but I don't care, I'm just glad to experience a solid Syphon Filter campaign again. And the price is right.

Anyway, I don't see a Dark Mirror PS2 thread when I search for it, so just a heads up if there's anyone else out there that was in my situation. I guess I'll probably buy a PSP now, because I'm not waiting this long to play Logan's Shadow.

I didn't even knew they remade SF-DM for ps2, looks better? (with better I mean if they added AA), wow controls have to be great on ps2, but I finished on psp, and yes the game was just awesome.

Ohh and also SF was my fav. ps1 action game and yes I said it
bitchez[/spiler] I'm waiting for a ps3 SF though :( .

I know it's pro scan, thanks to the back of the box, but is it widescreen!? Because game reviewers are generally a bunch of incompetent morons and none of them talked about it.

Is this the first SP game release for the PS2? If so I don't think there ever was a party, maybe a mild celebration because that game was a let down.

This is the PSP game, which is a celebrated PSP classic. Sounds like you're thinking of The Omega Strain, which like I said, was a bit of a clunker.

This game kicks ass.

There is a widescreen feature in the video options. I'm playing it on PS3, and I can't figure out how to make ANY PS2 game widescreen.

But I'm surprised at how good this game looks... I beat Halo 3 the other day, and this ain't much jaggier.

Settings --> game settings --> upscaler normal for 4:3 or fullscreen for 16:9

And you can also switch on the fly by pressing the PS button in game...

Oh and thanks a lot for the answer!:D

Dark Mirror is coming to PS2? And its only 26 days away from me? Why didnt anymore inform me about this? Omega Strain was baaaaaad yes, but I suppose DM is like the second coming then. I loved Syphon Filters on PS1

Eureka! Thanks. Much better.

Mmm. This game is excellent. I hope with they're inspired by the positive reaction to the PSP games to make a PS3 version.
