This is a pretty damn good movie, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it from the get go. I remember hearing that some people felt the movie glorifies Wall Street and the insane shit some rich people like to engage in, but it didn't feel that way at all. If anything this movie shows that rich people aren't robotic, that they are indeed human beings with desires and weaknesses.
The format and pacing of the movie reminded me of Casino. Things revolving around the main characters are broken down in the middle of story beats or after story beats. Breaking down how these characters function adds to characterization. Everything in Wolf felt alive, every scene has a purpose and nothing really felt wasted.
Excellent performances from everybody. Leo is surprisingly great when it comes to comedy and physical comedy. Jonah Hill was a fantastic side kick, and unlike his other side kick roles, this one felt more heartfelt and lovable. There were a lot of surprising moments that were pretty damn sad. The comedy feels larger than life, but the drama feels grounded.
Great movie, Scorsese is still the greatest.
