BTW, I personally found the season spectacular, but it's definitely not for everyone. Just head in with an open mind and no expectations.

I love the original run of Twin Peaks, even the parts that kind of sucks. Season 3 is most certainly worth the effort, but how much you'll enjoy it entirely depends on how you enjoy pure Lynch work. Because it's a very different kind of project, it had moments of pure Twin Peaks, and moments of pure Lynch. Personally I found it way too long and annoying, but some amazing moments spread out and the ending is...

Well I still have no idea, so I'm still hoping there's still a season 4 happening 😂

Whatever you think Season 3 might be, it won't be it.
Whatever you think the plotlines in Season 3 might go towards, they won't.

Remember that and be ready for some long-ass slow scenes and you might survive it.

It goes from absolutely terrible to absolutely fantastic.
My personal opinion about it is that it kinda ruined several things about Twin Peaks for me, but it also made some things better. Generally it was a disappointment when compared to what I wished it to be, but there surely are moments there you don't want to miss.

So basically it's all over the place. It's a full season of "didn't see that coming" in both good and bad ways. Sometimes the things that you didn't see coming are just dull and stupid. Sometimes they are great. So at the very least you get a season full of things you didn't even think might happen. It's up to you to either like them or hate them or be lukewarm about them.

Watching Twin Peaks with my kids, third time for me.

We are at episode 13 of season 2. Now.... I don't know if this is very controversial but this time around, I don't think mid-season 2 is that bad. Or to be more blunt, I think it's rather good. Ben's civil war story line is just starting though so I may change my mind but so far it has been much better than I remembered. Even James' thing doesn't bother me.

Watching three episodes per day probably helps too but all in all, it seems underrated to me now.

First time I watched Peaks, I watched first season, then first episode of S2 and dropped it because it was too boring and WTF.

Years later with S3 coming out I watched it again, got over the first episode of S2, and ended enjoying S2 more than S1 (even the episodes hated by Lynch I had great fun with).

S3 is bizzare, boring, fucked up and mindblowing. I loved it eventhough it was slow as fuck at times.

The whole experience requires a fair bit of patience but it’s worth it, I think. Stays with you more than most TV. Did you watch Fire Walk With Me?

For me the third season is a disappointing follow up for the original series, but has some amazing scenes. I haven't laughed as hard as I did at the scenes with Dougie in a long time. The biggest problem for me is how modernized everything is and how the small town vibe is completely gone.

I found it really baffling how dumb they made Lucy in season 3. I really disliked how they handled sheriff Harry S. Truman's character, but I can forgive it since the original actor passed away. The bits with Phiilip Jeffries (played by Bowie in FWWM) felt unnecessary. The finale showing off real life connections breaks the season apart.

I have, and I read the Mark Frost book, which was interesting.
I love Twin Peaks overall. Although it will be few years before I rewatch it.
