Then what's the freaking point? Those are the most memorable songs in Lumines. This album is pretty much worthless without them.

Those songs are available on other singles.

I really dug a couple of the original tracks. Holiday in summer stands out in my mind.

if people are interested, i would do a recordings of the music, only if i had the equipment and knew how to record the music.

it may seem pointless now that there's a soundtrack coming, but it may come in handy since this OST is gonna be a remix. and if it's anything like Rez, it'll sound a bit different from the actual game music

Good job too as I only ever hear about a minute of Urbanization before I get to the next skin ;)

Have there been any rips from the Actual game? I'd like to know what the music is like..
i'm working on it, but it's not easy at all.

And while i love the songs with lyrics, songs like TAKE A DOG OUT A WALK, Sister Walk, and even Urbanization are just as good as the Mondo Grosso tunes.

Wario64, all you need a soundcard with line-in, a cable to (usually 1/8" stereo jack on both ends), a program like Audacity (freeware), and lots of time and patience. Timed mode is best to record the loops, but i'm having problems judging the best progression in tracks. Also, some of the sound effects seem to belong to each song, and i don't know how to isolate those sounds to incorporate them into the loops to properly form songs.

Since the sound effects from game actions are a critical part of many of the "songs," I would argue that the remixed version would be the only "proper" way to listen to any of them as pieces of music.

I'm kind of wondering how many of the pieces will work as standalone songs, though. I've been jonesing for a longer version of "Urbanization" and "Slipping," but can you imagine listening to a 3-4 minute version of "Dark Side Beside The River" or "Meguro," for example?

I hope these tracks become available for individual download...although somehow I doubt they'll end up on iTunes or anything like that.

Does anyone have the files for "Shake ya body" or "I Hear The Music In My Soul" so that a complete soundtrack can exist at least digitally?

Sweetness...because the way I am playing, this soundtrack will be the only way I will hear alot of these songs, :lol

i've got another mix of "Shake Ya Body", but aside from that, those are all the files that are on my host.

i'm working on Urbanization. Had a pretty big set back as i ran out of hard drive space while recording, and somehow some of the loops i had saved got corrupted. i'm starting from scratch, after having cleared a gig of space and allocating a second temp drive. i'm hoping to have something up tomorrow.

You deserve a cookie for all that work. Hope you have better luck this time.

I was messing around with recording some songs yesterday, "Just..." in particular is the one I recorded. I was just about to post that site aoi tsuki posted. Since there's no sound test, I'm not sure what exactly is the best way to record them. I just recorded myself playing, so it depends on how well I do. If anyone wants them like that, or if there's a better way to rip, let me know, and I'll do it.

edit: just read aoi's first post, looks like i got work to do.

Anyone know why such a late release date?

I believe it's because every "song" in the game had to be individually remixed so that it's a legitimate track. In the game, you just have a series of music clips looped together.

I've been hoping for this, and although the lack of MG and EN songs is a disappointment, I sadly can't say it's a surprise. I'll certainly buy it anyway.

Now lets just hope they get into the groove and get the name right: 'Player's Guide to Lumines' is the correct title here.

15 second samples of all of the tracks are up now:

Brainstorm will start taking orders from their website soon, but I'm not sure if they'll ship overseas or not. If not, I'll help a few Gaffers out. Don't PM me until we know whether they'll deliver internationally, please.

True...I assumed it was the other way around, full songs cut into clips.

nice. only listened to the first 3, roundabout sounds the most different from the original so far

ok just listened to the disc 1 samples. the music sounds almost the same as the original tunes, but there's some subtle differences in them. it's nothing radically different than something like Rez -> Gamer's Guide to Rez.

The only thing I can think about is what I can clear on the cover. For the past month, everywhere I look I see blocks. It sad really.

Yeah, scroll up and check my 16th May post :P He put some samples up on the site and announced the album will go on sale on his company's website (Brainstorm).

Got my copy in the post this morning.
Hot stuff!

★★★★☆
It seems Mr.Nakamura has managed to cram in almost every sample somehow. The only thing I noticed missing is the annoying ringing noise from the Big Elpaso skin when you drop a block. Some of the remixed tracks end up being significantly longer than others, e.g. Strangers at 5:35 versus Take a Dog Out a Walk at 1:33. Apart from the absence of the Mondo Gross / Eri Nobuchika tracks, this is a perfectly accurate rendition of the Lumines soundtrack, which is no mean feat considering how the sound layers work in the game. Massive kudos to Nakamura for his work... buy it!

Ah, what I meant was, do I have to order it on the web? Or can I go down to Tower or something and pick it up?
You have to order it on the web... it's less hassle though. Gets delivered in a day, cash on delivery :D

Take a Dog out for a Walk is only 1:33? That's a travesty!!! It's one of my favorite songs :(

Does anybody have a spare Play-Asia $5 coupon they can PM me? :)
