Lumines remixes: release details

Does anyone have an mp3 of the Lumines version of Shake Ya Body? All I have is a Tim Deluxue mix that doesn't really sound like the in-game song.

Jonnyram -- any impressions of the soundtrack so far? I'm sorely tempted to order the CD, but I'd like your take on it first...

Certainly.
It's a very nice representation of the ingame music. It's not as instantly awesome-sounding as you would think while you play the game, but it's still good. Basically, the tracks lack "depth"; the number of samples played at the same time tends to be quite low. Some of the loops are repeated too long (like the intro track, "Welcome to the Club"). But, it's decent background music while working. You really need to throw in the licensed tracks too, just to round off the soundtrack feel.

Second CD feels like more of a bonus CD since I didn't play those parts of the game too much. The first CD is more like a proper soundtrack. It's cool to create your own playlist when you've ripped them too.

I guess overall, it depends on your musical tastes. If you generally like listening to game soundtracks, this will probably appeal to you, but it's not going to win over people who prefer more commercial music. Gamers will especially remember some of the awesome moments you have when you play the game, such as the frantic parts in Spirits and the high of Fly Into the Sky as you're crusing into Lights.

Highlights: Urbanization, Strangers, My Generation, Spirits, Fly Into the Sky.

Thanks for the impressions.

I have only bought or considered buying soundtracks for games where I think I could enjoy the music on its own merits. (Rez is a great example, and I'm about to order the Ridge Racers soundtrack CD as well.) Some of the tracks from Lumines fit into my usual tastes -- it's no surprise that "Urbanization" connects with me, for example. However, some of the tracks in Lumines are pretty much designed to be disorienting, or "different for the sake of being different," and I don't know how much I'd enjoy listening through them.

Too bad iTunes Music Store doesn't offer game soundtracks. <SIGH>

Well, it offers the FF music soundtracks... I'm actually pretty interested in picking this up, Urbanization is probably my favorite song in Lumines so far (then again, the farthest I've gotten is Big Elpaso).

Those songs are available on other singles.
Where do you find these singles? I'd gladly pay for some of these songs but I just can't find anyplace to buy them. Specifically "I Hear the Music in My Soul", NOT the remix. There's a "solid groove" remix out there but from a clip I downloaded it isn't what I want, which is just the song as it appears in the game. Is there anyplace I can buy that?

I have to order this today. I just popped in Lumines again today and was reminded how good the music is on there.

I'm desperately looking for those 4 tracks from Lumines (from Mondo Grosso and nobuchika) but I cannot find it. The YouSendIt files are also suspended. Anybody who could help me?

Any word on Lumines 2? I know there were hints of it and then EEE was announced for the PSP and everything died down.

All I remember about Lumines 2 was an interview in which Mizuguchi talked about an interest in it and that it'll most likely come to the PSP.
