"LUMINES remixes" soundtrack CD in development!

According to Takayuki Nakamura's diary, he is in the process of making a soundtrack CD for Lumines. 40 songs will be included, originally written by himself and Yokota, all remixed by Nakamura for this project.

The tracks were all originally written as clips, 2 or 4 bars in length, and vary according to how you play the game. So Nakamura is making them into proper tracks for the CD (that's where the remix idea comes in).

The Mondo Grosso / Eri Nobuchika songs will NOT be included, only the original Lumines songs. He reckons the album should be finished and on sale by June. He'll post more info on his blog as he progresses.

The Mondo/Eri tracks are already available commercially. They would have to pay their labels (again) to include them on the soundtrack, so why bother? You all have them anyway :P

So i take it the "Lights" single along with this disc completes the Lumines soundtrack?

On a related note, it's disappointing when i find a link via Google to the Lumines "soundtrack" and it links to my host where i used to have the files. No wonder i was getting slammed over the past three weeks. :)

You had the soundtrack before? How did I miss that? I got the Wipeout and RR ones.

That sucks, I would have preferred shorter remixed verisons of the Mondo Grosso tracks :(

Shinin' is like 10 minutes long on their album

It was in the "lumines" directory. It might make a return soon, i just had to take it down because i was going over my monthly bandwidth, though not by much. Eventually i'd like to have a proper site up with links to places to buy the original CDs.

Afraid to use a BitTorrent tracker?

Never done it actually. Once i get a site up, i'll look into it. If someone wants to create a torrent from the files, it's fine with me. One thing i don't plan on doing though, is permanently hosting soundtracks for games with official soundtracks or licensed music.

anyone know where i can get both wipeout pure OST and the lumines original OST? retail or hosted? :)

Lumines doesn't really have an OST so you're kinda out of luck there...

edit - wow brain stopped working.

Haha yeah, I saw this thing linked all over Gamefaqs and the Gamingforce forums.

Eh, fuck it, I'll be nice. Nothing to see here.

On his blog, he was talking about his old powerbook and how he wants a powerbook g5. I took the opportunity to ask what his mobile studio involves, and it is remarkably similar to mine.

Powerbook g4 + mbox + ableton live + reason + pro tools.

The man has to be a production beast on the shinkansen.
