My car was totaled yesterday in an accident because some idiot thought they could outrun a green light at an intersection. Of course since cars are made like cardboard both of our cars fell to pieces, so I'm out a vehicle. Outside a strange pain in my left arm, there aren't any serious injuries.

Bottom line, I'm going to have to use rideshare for awhile to get to work, and I know my only real choices are Lyft and Uber but I have no idea how any of them work, and want to get the opinion of people GAF on which service is better, and if there are any tips and tricks to get cheaper rides or to find coupons that can bring me savings..

I'm so sorry to hear about the accident! I hope and pray you feel better soon and that the injuries aren't more serious than they seem.

One of my best friends used Lyft services nearly daily for two years, and although I'm not sure of his reasons, his experiences with Lyft were significantly better than those of Uber.

Lyft is cheaper and they treat their drivers much more humanely. Uber is manned by libertarian shitheads and always has been.

As both an Uber and Lyft driver, I can tell you that Lyft treats their drivers significantly worse than Uber does. After Lyft made a change in their payment scheme a few months ago, I rarely ever drive for Lyft anymore. Please do your rideshare drivers a favor and choose Uber.

I've only used Lyft twice and it was a couple years back but when pooling, they took longer to pick me up than Uber pooling and it costed slightly more.

Although nowadays I can't afford Uber as it seems they really jacked up their prices and they have a 5 minute countdown before it connects me to a car which never happened before.

Plus my Uber rating went down from 4.99 to 4.96 for some reason.

Uber. I've never had an issue with any of my drivers and I've used the service at various points of time as I don't drive. Although I haven't used it in a while, but I enjoyed the several dollars discount due to a high rating iirc.

I love all of opinions of one being better than the other. If you did a blind test and had a driver come to you without announcing which company they worked for, you would never know.

I will usually start with which ever one is cheaper. Sometimes it's Uber, sometimes it's Lyft. If they are the same price, I will often go to which one will get to me sooner.
