Since I am new to macs, I was wondering if there was an OS X functional equivalent to Winmx other than drumbeat (which costs $$$).

Preferrably, I would love a version/how to for winny2. Apparently it uses the .net framework, and may run under mono on mac os x. However, I would need a short walkthrough, idea on how to get it running.

Check out Soulseek. There are guides on the net how to make it run and I believe there are also some '3rd party' mac-only clients that run on the same network.

Solarseek = soulseek on a mac without the long and arduous hassle. It's still a little shaky in these reliminary builds but new version is coming soon.

Seconded. Rock this shit. Best way to get full albums if you're as picky as I am. I've tried the other ways of running SoulSeek, and this is the easiest and best.
