Mac Hardware and Software |OT| - All things Macintosh

If I just plug in my old HFS+drive it seems to keep working normally. Maybe it doesn’t benefit from AFS.

Also not sure if I should start a new TimeMachine or keep my old HFS+ one?

Thanks!
Just convert it if you want it to be APFS.

The benefits to APFS are probably more noticeable on SSDs but HDDs get some new stuff too. Thing is it's so new that most articles on Google are from before it was finished and still in beta with missing features.

Hey Mac-Gaf, long time listener, first time caller.

I just switched from PC to a Macbook Air with HIgh Sierra. I have two 2TB hard drives running NTSF that I would like to use with my Macbook. I got an external USB drive and a hot swappable dock but with both, I can only read my PC drives. Is there any way I can read and write? without formating it or paying for software?

thanks!
