How long is one able to play the franchise mode on the GCN platform before errors start preventing you from playing the game?

I've played it for 6 seasons so far with a couple of hiccups on the 6th season. But now on the 7th season, my game will freeze at half-time 9 times out of 10. Is this regular? Is this suppose to happen?

Also, will deleting my saved franchise delete my created players too? Thanks in advanced.

I'm in my tenth year of franchise mode (12 min, Acc Clock, All-Pro), and I have experienced similar problems. There were many instances where I had trouble getting a regular season game to even start; it would freeze during the load screen. I couldn't find any similar cases, let alone a solution. I almost ended up replacing my GC until I became convinced Madden was the problem, not the console.

My suggestion would be to:
a) save right before half-time, just in case, and...
b) keep pressing start right as the half ends, then 'resume' to bypass the half-time cut scenes (usually the trouble spot in my games)

Also, if you have the loading trouble I encountered, I noticed it helps if you try to switch uniforms or playbooks right before the game. You don't have to pick a different one, just make sure you go into the menus. It seems to work for me. *shrug*
