Madden 360 footage on NFL Network

i personally dont think this looks bad, but when people say something looks better than target visuals and ends up not even at the target visuals people are gonna be mad. that said, im not making any judgements until madden 2006 is in my xbox 360 and im physically playing it on my hdtv

I'll take that as a "This is the greatest game ever, it will melt your faces off as if the Arc was being opened on your TV!"

Thanks!

Exactly. Add night time lighting, snow, and some motion blur, and people think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. After seeing the aweful artifacts and jaggies from NCAA 06 at 480p, I can't wait for this game.

Doesn't look any different from the original concept. Actually CG movies often have that non clean look that looks cool in cut-scenes but in actual gameplay i wouldn't find it very appealing.

Can't really comment on animations though i don't expect them to be as good as the concept movie for obvious reasons.

OMFG. Seriously, I thought EA fudged this up badly with the talk in this thread.

Then I download Blim's link. WTF is wrong with the lot of you? I'm done with threads like this. I'll just jump in, grab my link, and try hard not to read responses. This forum is turning to shit.

I thought the models looked pretty decent. The only issue I had with a couple of very quick shots (in the show) was that the ground looked completely flat and there was barely anything other than the models themselves. Of course it could've been the specific shots shown that didnt' expose much detail. In any case, with the very little media that has been shown, it's too early to speculate. I think they deserve at least the chance to show a good preview of their game before being bashed (deservedly or not.)

:lol

"like I said, can't comment"

You can *comment* on how it'll look better than the initial renders but not the framerate?

Influx of Gamefaqs posters lately.

The video does look fantastic. Can't wait to see the final version. Now that EA is gonna get their 2 million + sold of current gen Madden over the next couple weeks lets hope we see the true final version soon!

what's interesting about it, one is a vague comment, the other is a very specific game detail

I don't know why you even bother man. You know GAF. BTW, tell the guy who's modeling Dolphins Stadium to stick some Marino HOF stuff in there ;)

Saying the game will look better than the renders is pretty specific to me. On the other hand if the game is a solid 60 fps I think any developer would jump at the chance to tout it, but we'll see. ;)

Didn't realize 60fps were something people bitched about for sports titles.

I just want to know why we haven't seen more. Even if it is of early build footage (cue the smartass 'wall guy' comments from some people), it would be nice to see more than two players on screen at once.

I'm no insider, but from other threads it seems EA is holding off the media blitz until the current gen games hit the market. It makes sense because I'm sure MS wants the Madden hype to coincide with 360 hype. It's a system seller.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

I saw the pic of the eye and was like "HOLY FUCK IS THAT STRAHAN!?"

Right clicked... sure enough it was. :lol :lol

CK = Giants Super Fan.

Those were "target" visuals in that commercial. Although it was mentioned by some people at EA that the game would exceed the commercial graphically.

Maybe those were targets for PS3? :lol

Seriously though, this looks fine. A big, big step up from the Maddens we're playing now.

christ... I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take to model all the players' faces on the level of detail that is shown w/ the Shaun Alexander model, not to mention all of the different team's stadium details. @_@

I think come the end of September, we will see what Madden 360 has to offer. That gives the current gen Madden time to sell like a fat kid at a Twinkies factory. Then when it starts to get full (sales slow) they punch you in the stomach with 360 screens and info, and now you’re hungry again, and ready to eat up all the addicting, bad for you, fattening Madden 360 info. Because we all know how bad Madden addictions can get come winter. :)

FFS, that looks great. All the bitching is unjustified IMO. Looks like the target video IMO. Hope they nail the tackle interactions though. Nothing to kill the realism than a punishing hit with about a foot of space between the tackler and his victim. PEACE.

I've captured it using MCE2005 and finally got around to "divx'ing" it if anyone wants to host. or I can just upload it to You send it ifyou guys are still looking for the full segment.

It's a bit worrying that there's no comment on the framerate, when it's usually an automatic thing.

Why? Nathkenn isn't a representitive of EA. He can state his personal opinion that the game looks better than the target render, but he can't make a statement that the game will be 60fps. One is his opinion, the other isn't.
