I have all of it ordered from Amazon. Hopefully it ships today. I've been running the Mage Demo from the website for the past 2 months and it's really good.

What have you guys thought of the new World of Darkness so far? I think that both Requiem and Forsaken are great (I prefer Forsaken, though), and I like the WoD core rules.

It's weird: I thought Forsaken was much, much better than Apocalypse because they un-cheesified it, but then Requiem felt kind of limp without all the Trent Reznor quotin', Poppy Z. Brite wannabe goth-punk pretention of Masquerade.

I do think it's for the best that they cut their ties with the old WoD, but I haven't really gotten into the new stuff as anything other than an interested collector marvelling at the fact that it's been a decade since I played it the first time around.

Agreed on Forsaken. Never was much of a Vampire player, but I like Requiem. I can see how Requiem might seem a bit bland, though.

I prefer Requiem over Masquerade and have had more fun storytelling Requiem than I ever did with Masquerade. I just like how they revised and simplified the whole clan structure though I think things could get out of hand with the whole bloodlines concept.

^^^ well of course it's going to be more consistent, since that's one of the things they were trying to accomplish, and with 15 years to do it, I think they did a bang up job of streamlining things.

I really like Requiem, but nothing WW does will ever have the same impact as opening up the VtM 1st edition as a 12 year old way back in the day. I'm pretty sure I posted some impressions of Requiem back when it was released last year (though it may not have been on GAF, and only SA and RPG.net now that I think about it).

I have W:tF but but haven't really read it much, picking it up more as a completist than anything, since I was never big on Werewolf in the first place.

I'm just waiting for my copy of Mage to ship though, from impressions of people that picked it up at GenCon, it sounds aces.

You should give it a read. I've seen quite a few Apocalypse haters on the net be converted by Forsaken (and on the vice versa, I've seen a lot of Apocalypse players say they don't like Forsaken). The new Werewolf doesn't have so much (if any) of an ecological bent, and is much more about actually being a werewolf.

Of course, if playing as a werewolf itself is the cause of your disinterest, then I guess there's nothing Werewolf could ever do to get you enthused. Just thought you'd like to know.

As for Mage, I'm debating whether I should get it or not. If I get it, I'll have to ST it. If I don't get it, someone else might ST it so I can play. But the latter is not a definite, so I'm torn...

Yeah, I should have been more clear. I've never had the slightest inkling to actually play Werewolf, the concept is what turns me off. I'm one of the 'well shit, i'll buy this book just to have it in case I ever want to do a crossover in my Mage/Vamprire game' crowd.
