Okay, yet another reason they're fake. I thought that the red in the leaked Chandra's frame looked off from the red in the frame of real Chandra and I checked and it looks like the same tinge used in Magic Set Editor. Check it:

I think im using my inkmoth nexus' wrong. Ive played with multiple people who have told me different rulings

Example 1
T1: Land
T2: Inkmoth , activate Inkmoth, Attack with inkmoth, Inkmoth turn back into land at my EOT

Example 2
T1: Land
T2: Inkmoth, activate Inmoth, Inkmoth has Summoning Sickness for this turn only and can be activted any time after this

Example 3
T1: Inkmoth
T2: Land, Activate Inmoth, Inkmoth has Summoning Sickness for this turn only and can be activted any time after this

Example 4
T1: Inkmoth
T2: Land, activate Inkmoth, Attack with inkmoth, Inkmoth turn back into land at my EOT

Exemple 4 is the correct one.

In order to not have summoning sickness, a creature permanent has to have been under your control at the beginning of your turn.

As such, since you played Inkmoth on your first turn, it will be able to attack during your second turn since it will have been under your control at the start of that turn.

Summoning sickness only cares about whether the permanent was in your control since the BEGINNING of the turn or not.

So imagine every single card as having summoning sickness, but it only affects creatures, not lands. Now, as your Inkmoth turns into a creature, it now matters when it came into play. It does not matter however, when it has turned into a creature.

Because if it would have mattered, NO ability which turns anything into a creature until the end of turn would work without giving that creature haste.

LOL

Perfect.

I don't think that Garruk is legit because his ability puts the creature directly into play. If it was supposed to interact with Garruk's Horde, it would put the creature on the top of your deck.

so i have 4 alliance M/NM force of wills and I've been trying to find an approximate price, some sites say 70$, some say 50$, anybody know the price?

If they are NM you could probably get around $70, I know a couple months back they were easily going for $70+, but haven't seen too much lately.

Any place on the web where I can go and play around with deck building? I got NPH and MBS Fat Pack, and I'm sitting on 350 cards now, I hope to build a decent T2 deck from them.

Got Hero of Bladehold Foil and Sword of bla-bla, so I guess I got lucky.

I can see Vengeful Pharoah being played in T2 somehow. 5/4 Deathtouch for 5 that is still lethal if its in the graveyard, yes please.

Or actually probably not if Grave Titan is returning. Well, I guess one can hope that with Innistrad being supposively much graveyard-themed, we will be able to dump the Pharoah there for further shenanigans easily.

Try Cockatrice. If you really want it to be web-based though, I dunno.

So I sent the cards to WanderingWind today, since he paid me a little earlier. Sorry to the rest of you who were interested, first come first serve :(

For some reason I feel that if Vengeful Pharoah's second ability was optional, it would be twice as viable. Something about essentially giving your opponent a chance to control your draw rubs me the wrong way, even if it's for a decent creature.

If that new Garruk is real, I hope they give land destruction a chance to be a viable strategy again (which I suppose is just mana ramp in a different light).

Also, does anyone else see Nic Cage every time you look at Skinshifter?

Trying to get into this with MTGO. There seems to be a new set of cards coming out the 15th next month though, and appearently cards are being made obsolete using formats. Where can I read more about which cards I'm supposed to buy?

Magic 12th Edition comes out July 15th. Until the end of September the following cards are valid in Standard Format (most popular one):

Magic 11th Edition
Magic 12th Edition
Zendikar Block (Zendikar/Worldwake/Rise of the Eldrazi)
Morrodin Block (Scars of Morrodin/Morrodin Besieged/New Phyrexia)

After Innistrad comes out the following will be valid in T2/Standard Format:

Magic 12th Edition
Morrodin Block
Innistrad

There are also other formats: Legacy (all Magic expansions since 1994), Extended (all cards from now until Lorwyn Block), Limited (you do not build a deck beforehand). I also read somewhere that Magic 11th Edition cards will be valid, if they are reprinted in M12, but someone more knowledgeable can confirm that.

If you need any help or have questions, you can add me on your friends list if you want on MTGO. Name is ironmanx.

I can see it being pretty amazing in draft though as long as you can properly handle the triple black in its cost.

I have a quick question that you seem suited to answer. I've tried to convince my friends to get involved with MTGO. I hear the same argument every time: "I don't want to rebuy my entire collecton." When I played MTGO back in the day, my collection really only consisted of the cards I currenly had in constructed decks. I bought the specific cards that I needed and sold the unnecessary ones (from drafts mostly) for tickets. So my question is this: Do most people treat MTGO like paper MTG? Do people buy endless boosters and have a huge collection of cards they will probably never use?

Tempted to try MTGO, it's only 10USD...

Give it a shot. Try not to rage too hard over the inevitable mis-click though. (Assuming the game is like it was when I played back in the day.)

That depends, there are a lot of different mindsets when playing magic. People buy boosters to pop open packs to gamble on a big card, or people just buy the stuff they need.

Personally, I draft a lot (too much) and by doing so I get free boosters when I win, cutting th costs of future drafting. From doing this, I have gotten enough in picking high price cards I got 2 decks going. Tempered Steel and Inkmoth Infect. Iv'e been playing for around 2 weeks.

You're friends don't HAVE to buy their collection again, you can use MTGO to your liking.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can do in terms of convincing them to try it. It might be hard to pull them away from Duels though since it can satisfy that Magic urge and only has the one time cost.

Patched, logged in, opened New Account set (didn't open DPW or Booster though) - no idea what to do, the guide posted before (MTGSalvation) doesn't explain much. Any pros willing to help a bit?

Go to your collection screen and open up your packs. Then go to deck editor, read over your cards, and throw one together. The nyou can go into the New Players lounge and look for a game.

The hardest part is getting used to the interface. There are some youtube vids (cant look them uo I am at work) that show you how it works. It seems archaic at first but you will get used to it. There is a lot more functionality than DOTP.

I just want to say. This is by far my favorite Magic community :p

I just spent 5 hours (I'm bored) reading on another Magic website's board bickering dickholes fighting over a deck build that I myself am building, and am building differently and efficiently, and everyone hates any sort of constructed criticism.

Way to go GAF.

We love you to Chobear

Skinshifter is definitely very interesting. In the right deck you could have a 4/4 trampler swinging in on turn 2. I could see it getting some decent play in type 2.

And Angelic Destiny is going right in my Uril EDH deck. I was hoping for some more awesome enchantments.

I do not know about others, but myself, I just LOOVE cards where you can decide if you want a trampler, a flyer or a wall, and all these for just one mana. Not to mention that he will be the perfect wielder of a sword also.

Oh wow, that's so true. I really like this guy. Im an EDH only guy so it won't be in any of my decks any time soon, but I want one for my collection.

I would have loved to see Skinshifter be a mythic rare. All they would need to do is remove the "once per turn" stipulation. That would have been super exciting. Goblin grenade brings out the Magic kid in me. It was one of the first cards I played with all the way back in middle school. Druidic Satchel is definitely doing it for me. I could see that used in green ramp or possibly blue control (even though revealing your topdeck while playing control seems like a terrible idea). I'm pretty amused by Personal Sanctuary because I had a friend who always used CoPs back in the day. I could see it boning an unlucky Red Deck Wins or Sligh player out there, but can't see it gaining too much popularity.

I wanted to build an equipment-based EDH deck but Sword of Fire and Ice is going for 35 fucking dollars and it's pretty much essential. I should have gotten one when I came back to Magic back in Ravnica, I think it was what, 15 bucks. It's more expensive than Jitte.
