This was the most ridiculous match I've been in. Guy kept flickering/bouncing his stonehorn dignitaries and stacked up like 6 million skipped combat phases for me, then tried to mill me out at like 2 cards a turn. I ended up killing him by flipping my huntsmasters back and forth =p

Bahaha, thats awesome :)

If you need to draw it quickly/replace it when it dies, yes. You just can't have more than one on the battlefield simultaneously (this includes ones under your opponent's control).

Yeah I know about the Legendary rule. It'd be abitch tho if u have on the field, get a copy of it in your hand then ur opponent makes u summon it to the field. I think if the same Legendary are on the field both are sent to the grave yard right?

^Yes, just like any card that's not banned, restricted, a basic land or Relentless Rats, you can have a maximum of 4 in a deck. As with all cards, when you put more copies into your deck you increase your chances of drawing it at the right time, but unless having the legendary in play is vital to your deck's strategy I wouldn't go for the full 4 copies, since more often than not you wouldn't want to have multiples in hand at the same time.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your guys's posts.

Bonkers as in "What why would they reprint a bad card" or as in "Wow this card is great for some reason!"

Draw-go style control decks leave up 4+ mana all the time, especially when a 2 mana instant is in the yard. Honestly, I would run Rewind as a 1-of or 2-of in a heartbeat if I'm playing Draw-go, especially if I have access to a bunch of quality instant speed mana sinks (Think Twice, Forbidden Alchemy, Loothouse in Grixis, Drownyard in UB, etc).

Going to try and claim my DOTP promo cards tomorrow....if there are any left!
So annoyed I don't have an money to go to the pre release on Saturday. Definitely going to RTR though!

I'm annoyed they put the prerelease on the same weekend as the British GP, you think they'd schedule around stuff like that!

Any sweet Land Tax shenanigans in Legacy yet?

So in belated answer to this question: Nope.

Nobody playing Land Tax made it on camera and from what the commentators were saying it didn't sound like anyone playing a Land Tax deck had any real success.

So far it's been all RUG Delver and Reanimator/Griselbrand. Oh and 1 Esper/Stoneblade deck too.

I think I'm going to enter the SSG Open that's hitting Buffalo toward the end of July. Just found out about it last night, and I'm pretty excited.

I have no idea what I want to play at all.

Hopefully we'll see something good using it for the Legacy Open today. Not quite as relevant given the GP, but anything would be nice.

I love how the boogeyman of the format didn't get anyone in the top 8. Like I told everyone I knew that was demanding a ban, the format would correct itself. Also cool to see Belcher and Goblins top as well.

I really cant wait to see Sam Black's decklist. I've seen pieces of it over the weekend, but it's easily the most unique thing I've seen at the GP. Doesn't hurt that it was piloted by a likely future-Hall of Famer.

Maverick v RUG on the other bracket.

(Consistency = your friend. Sam's deck is also very consistent, RUG is just one of the tougher matchups for him, apparently)

Woah, might have missed the boat for the DOTP promo cards, the shop nearest me has sold out- I'm asking another nearby if they have any. Can they be redeemed through Wizards directly if no stores nearby have them?

Which is why Dismiss was always better in those cases. Dismiss always replaces itself. If they don't cast anything? Then use instant speed draw. Having a card that narrowly lets you draw cards from using other cards only if you get to counter a spell they cast is not a very good card.

I hate Rewind so much. It killed my puppy when people voted it in over Rewind.

Oh, I'm not debating where it ranks among 4-mana counter spells. Just remarking that it would definitely be worth considering in the right kind of deck.

I'd certainly use it if Cloudposts or Urza lands were in standard, as that the only time Rewind was seriously played. It allowed you to counter a spell and then finish them off by powering out a massive X spell. If we had lands that could tap for more than 1 mana, then it would be great with Entreat the angels.

As it stands, there's no real reason to go Rewind, its an overcosted counter.

It's not over costed. It's free!*

Jesus, that spider is going to be a pain in the ass. Corrosive Gale going out of print? No worries, we attached it to a 2/7 spider.

EDIT: I guess they felt like adding Smite the Monstrous to a creature as well:

This has some potential for shenanigans:

3 mana? Jaysus.

Bit expensive, but would be nice for longer grindy games.

Ohh this will go good in my turbofog deck, can possibly replace Venser's Journal (though the lifegain is nice)

God yes. Feels so good to be green.

Works so well with Krenko, Mob Boss once Goblin Chieftain is out of standard. While Chieftain is in standard though I won't touch that enchantment...for Goblins, anyway. But that's essentially the only red deck I enjoy playing. Gonna pick up 3-4 before M12 goes out though, just in case they might see a rise once RTR hits. Who knows.

Red gets completely shafted on a lord.

What an awful set for limited and nothing seems good enough for standard asides from Rancor.

My Frites deck. :(

Are you playing one of the versions with green and mana dorks? This might sound unreal janky, but have you considered Somberwald Sage in the board? She was a goofy last second slot filler for me, but I wind up siding her in a lot against decks that don't Gut Shot/Tragic Slip.

I really think Thragtusk is gonna see some play. His cost isn't unreasonable, he's in green so he'll likely come down earlier than his cmc implies, and he's a great value.

And with all the little flying tokens, the spider reprint might see a fair bit of sideboard time.

**Got my head thinking in the green, right now. heh

But honestly, I just kind of want to throw the red 2 drop ring on Spikeshot elder and pick people off all day long. Haha.
