Why hello bizarro gore house chainwalker; too bad you're an uncommon
This is actually a better card, imo.Was Suffocating Blast really too powerful?
Non-fetchland preorders for Khans are super cheap.so it looks like im gonna be going back to Magic since a bunch of people at college apparently have started to play it
I wanted to keep my money ;-

Welcome
If you aren't going to be playing competitive standard, it's not that bad. Investing in a modern or legacy deck has a big upfront cost, but then becomes cheap to upgrade once or twice a year. You can also just play commander, where you only need to own one copy of any given card and you are good to go.

Haha, no. Control has to play cards that lets it survive until the late game. Having a card that does something on turn three, taking into consideration of being on the draw, and only when your opponent taps out, is equal to having a death wish.Mindswipe is really good in a control deck.
Control needs a way to win and tapping 7 lands to counter a big spell is a sure way of chipping in for the win.Haha, no. Control has to play cards that lets it survive until the late game. I wish I could play this in a counterburn shell but alas. It should have been "Counter target spell. It deals X damage to the spell's controller where X is equal to the spell's converted mana cost." for three mana.

I want five.
Ok, I got the Clash Pack so I can teach my friends how to play the game to see if they like it, but I have a question or two about some of the rules myself (before I show them):
For Hydra Broodmaster -- can monstrosity be used multiple times? Can it be used like an instant?
What about Prognostic Sphinx's ability as far as discarding a card (which lets the Sphinx gain hexproof but also taps it)? Can it be used as an instant? I assume it can be used multiple times, but can it be used while it's already tapped (say you attack with the Sphinx, but your opponent plays something to counter it or destroy it, can you use its ability then? Will its original attack go through before the stack? Also, can you use it on your opponent's turn if it's already tapped from attacking the last turn?)?
Lots of little questions, but I think once I understand those two cards, then I'll remember how the stack works and whatnot.

I don't believe you can make the sphinx hexproof in response to a spell being cast that targets it, since targets are selected when the spell is cast not when it resolves, and Hexproof only checks to provide "targeting" immunity.
That could be completely wrong though
Edit: Woah, we all helped. Lol.

nope, it counters the spell, it's no longer a legal target. Just like giving a creature protection in reponse to a spell targeting it.
How much are fetches likely to cost when preordering? Is it a good idea to preorder them?
Yeah, with fetches, you want to wait until you need them to play, imo.IMO, unless you have an urgent need for them and want to play competitive Standard as soon as they're legal, you'd be wiser to wait. They'll go down as more and more product is opened. I don't see them settling for more than 15 each, maybe as low as 10.
What are the chances Wizards pulls something cute related to time travel at the prerelease?

Between drown in sorrow and anger of the gods, letting this hit morph would have just killed it DOA.Well, I mean, this IS a worse Journey to Nowhere. The fact that it doesn't hit morphs sort of supports that even more
I've barely played magic since the indescribably awful Theros came out, from the spoilers so far it looks like I'll be taking another year off.
SMH wizards.
I just tried out the new client and oh my god how did they possibly make the collection worse than it already was? What part of "Select All", "Add to Open Binder" does this stupid fucking thing not understand???

Before complaining that this is a worse Journey to Nowhere, please think for a moment about a very specific thing this card is avoiding.[/QUOTE]
Spell it out please.
