KILLER KEWLETTS ATTACK XBOX®
AS MAJESCO ANNOUNCES ‘RAZE’S HELL’ FOR 2005

EDISON, N.J., December 21, 2004 – Cutesy characters finally get their comeuppance as Majesco (OTC BB: MJSH), a provider of diversified products and content for digital entertainment platforms , introduces Raze’s Hell, a new third-person shooter developed by Artech Studios, available exclusively for the Xbox ® video game system from Microsoft and is scheduled for spring of next year.

A darkly comic action-shooter set in a fantasy world overrun by fiendishly cute creatures, Raze’s Hell follows the exploits of Raze, a monstrous anti-hero who takes a no-holds-barred approach to stopping an onslaught of adorable characters and restore his planet to its naturally ugly state.

“Anyone who has been driven crazy by the cloying sweetness surrounding some of today’s popular characters will appreciate the ultimate goal of this hilariously gruesome game,” said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. “Raze’s Hell is a creatively executed integration of humor and action that should satisfy those looking for something different in a video game.”

Under the leadership of their twisted Princess, the Kewletts are trying to impose their disturbingly distorted view of utopia upon the masses. Raze goes to war against the Kewletts, gaining the respect and assistance of some of the other inhabitants of the planet. As he grows in power, Raze works his way closer to the capital of Kewtopia to uncover the truth behind the Kewlett takeover.

Announced features of Raze’s Hell include:

* 20 massive mission-based levels set in surreal alien landscapes;
* Full Xbox Live support through a variety of gameplay modes;
* Split-screen cooperative action;
* Intense large-scale battles, intelligent AI that takes cover, sounds alarms and fights back;
* Over 10 devastating organic weapons that mirror traditional military weapons plus rolling, stealth and melee attacks;
* Over 20 fiendishly cute enemy types armed with deadly jack-in-the-boxes, lollipop axes and even bunny rocket launchers;
* Riotously grisly deaths and devilishly fun mini-games;
* Dolby Digital 5.1 sound support.

Raze’s Hell for Xbox is scheduled for release in spring 2005. More information on this product as well as Majesco’s entire lineup can be found online at www.majescogames.com.

Why am I getting a really bad 'Drake of the 99 Dragons' feeling on this one?

Also, "Kewletts" = worst alien race name ever. OH NOES RUN THE KEWLETTS ARE ATTACKING!

Sounds absolutely horrible and the feature list reads like just about any other "action" game I've ever seen.

They tried this with Fur Fighters and Conker, its nothing new.

Yeah, the videogame market these days is absolutely overrun with cute characters. They're too popular -- just ask Nintendo!

Come on. At least when Rare did it there was a certain level of self-parody involved. This shameless pitching to the "matchoore" market is more along the lines of the Prince Of Persia: WW variety.

Now then: shall we start the sales predictions at three million? I would make a guess, but I have to wait and see if you can use a football as a weapon.

Well, despite the fact that the announcement isn't worth much without accompanying media and the like, I think it's clear that Majesco is making a very serious pitch to try and become one of the bigger publishers for the next generation.

I think the GBA games and the GBA videos have given them a nice little war chest to try and lift themselves up from the bargain bins.

yeah, they turned up a nice profit on their q4 results, they almost tripled their revenue for the quarter thanks to the GBA videos, I expect them to do very well on christmas. They seem to be trying to establish a lot of new IPs, and they're more of a publisher right now. Advent Rising, Psychonauts, The Darkness, Raze's Hell. They're going to publish Phantom Dust as well. I hope that they're successful and manage to publish some quality games, could be some fresh air in the EA dominated market.

If it sells 3 million and features a football as a weapon, what's the prediction on how much time before EA sues and/or buys them? :D

Good god...

Woha, talk about garbage. And there I was thinking Majesco was getting good. Makes me wonder how they managed to get Psychonauts. Looks like no serious publisher wanted that game ?

well to be fair, advent rising looks pretty good.

If ya want to kill cute stuff, play Fur Fighters (the DC version).

My god that looks awful. But then, it's Majesco. What was their last great game...?

True, but it was said to be quite bad at E3. Of course they may have delayed it to fix these problems. I really hope this game will be good.
They also publish Phantom Dust, but I doubt they will do much for this one.

kind of reminds me of South Park for the N64...

Speaking of South Park, why hasn't there been a SP game this gen? A remade multiplayer game on XBL would "kick ass" </kyle>

I do like the direction Majesco is heading and I hate judging how a game may or may not perform based solely on graphics. A solid co-op mode and online mode could easily make this a must have.

One bad game and they're now the worst company in the industry? God, get off it people.

Hmm I don't know.. the blurb at the top right of http://www.adventtriology.com looks pretty sweet. I hope it turns out good anyway, as a huge "real" sci-fi fan, i could use another great sci-fi game other than halo 2.

BloodRayne 2 and Ultra Bust a Move were good.. after years of horribleness, I thought they were getting better.

What happened to their commitment to produce good software? They had a so promising lineup for 2005, why ruin it with this .... I know no word to describe what I've seen on these screenshots.

Why make this xbox exclusive?

Oh, I think it's the perfect choice. After all the comments from Xbox fans about liking teh mature realistic games and hating cutesy/japanophile stuff, they should eat this up with a spoon.

well.. haha.. it'd look okay on the dreamcast. They should stick to GBA dev with their profits. Making this an xbox exclusive is a) an atricious slap to Nintendo's face. They made money off the gba. but then its so fugly that it's guranteed to bomb so its a slap back.

Eh, you could say this for virtually any upcoming game in any genre.

Exactly. So why be so quick to label this game as crap? Shitty graphics != shitty game. GTAIII is a prime example of this. I'm not saying this game will be good, but I'm not saying it will be bad either. The features of the game at least give me hope that it can potentially be very fun.

Well, all we have right now to go on is the visual style and stated objectives of the game. And frankly, those do sound like crap. Rather than hold off on making an opinion due to what might happen, it's easier to react in the present to what we do know for sure.

GTa actually looks fine. This has bad art. That on a very minimum gurantees a bomb. Even scaler looks better.

Was going to put some of these screens in the shitty looking games thread... anyone else notice that Majesco pulled a bait and switch on us. Honestly, the game looked 100 times worse before.
