What's with 1up having all this good stuff lately?

2 good magazines getting axed, forcing their writers to scramble for jobs at other Ziff pubs, is what's with 1up having all this good stuff :)

Good article, Shawn. It's always interesting to see what goes on behind closed doors, especially in games that experience turbulent development like Psychonauts--speaking of which, I need to check this game out.

Hahaha, you're probably right

There wasn't a whole lot of new info in there, it's more of a compilation of all the questions from all the interviews tim has done, for the convenience of people who aren't like me..

The one interesting thing I saw was the problem with the paris publisher that almost picked up the game. Ubisoft is based in paris right?

Hot quote: "We found that a lot of folks liked [Psychonauts], but were like, 'Well, Beyond Good and Evil didn't sell too well, and so therefore creative games don't sell very well.' It was worrying -- a troubling sign for the whole industry, this new notion that if a game doesn't sell well, then every single attribute associated with it is now cursed and is something you shouldn't do. But what when that thing you shouldn't do is to be creative and original?"
