yeah many cars automatically lock the doors if you close the doors of a car if the keys are inside. my cousin has gotten locked out of his car a few times.

Actually, in my new car, you can't lock the open door if the keys are in the ignition. This happened to me in an older car. What's worse is I had to call my girlfriend (now wife) to come unlock it. She still makes fun of me about it.

Yeah, I borrowed my dad's truck to go to work when I was younger. I went to lunch, was running late and left the truck running! 3 hours later I came back to the truck, to hear it running, had to get a cop to come and open the door with a slim jim.


Back to the story, that shit just seems bizarre. He didn't get a coat hanger, but got a butcher knife? WTF? That is just odd.

I wonder what the urgency was. If they had JUST locked the kids in the car, the kids would have been fine while the wife looked for the keys. It's not like the babies were locked in the microwave. Now, if they realized an hour later that the kids were still in the car, I can understand the rush..
