Many executives of game software companies sat grim faced through the PlayStation 2 presentation as the machine's dramatically improved graphic handling capabilities are certain to create a big divide in the game software industry.
"No more than five software companies can develop games that take full advantage of the PlayStation 2's capabilities," Tomoyuki Takechi, president of Square Co. (9620), said. Takechi predicts the release of the PlayStation 2 will draw a clear line between software makers who have computer graphics prowess and those who do not.
