Really sad I didn't get into this alpha because I really want to play.

Same. Although there are a load of other games to play rn, I really fancied a dabble on this

They lost me immediately at Extraction Shooter. Maybe if I had friends that would play this all the time then I'd be inclined to check it out, but as it stands I'd only be queuing with randoms and that doesn't work for me.

I just hope they have matchmaking for ranked/"endgame" content.

Not like Destiny, where you had to go through a seperate app to get a fireteam for raids together, which basically was an extremely convoluted way to get the same result as matchmaking with randoms anyway.

I've got 2000 hours in Apex, but I burned out a couple years ago. The battle royale genre does nothing for me anymore

3500 hours here, double Predator and exactly the same! Dropped off 2 years ago. I've been playing Warzone with a couple of youngsters for the past 3 months and I'm totally burned out. Battle Royale isn't my jam anymore. I played a shit ton of DMZ when it came out and the gameplay loop feels so good. Get contracts, drop in, do missions to complete contracts, fight mobs and get 3rd partied by other teams, kill them, escape with last exfil, after killing 2 teams over it - celebrate! This is what gets my blood pumping.
