Marco Pierre White

imagine he cooks you this and you're enjoying it

he looks at you cautiously with a clenched fist

then you ask if there's hot sauce and he slaps the living shit out of you

It's interesting to see how much Marco Pierre White's career has diverged from that of his famous protege, Gordon Ramsay.

White gave away his Michelin Stars, stating that:

Marco Pierre White said:
"I was being judged by people who had less knowledge than me, so what was it truly worth? I gave Michelin inspectors too much respect, and I belittled myself. I had three options: I could be a prisoner of my world and continue to work six days a week, I could live a lie and charge high prices and not be behind the stove or I could give my stars back, spend time with my children and re-invent myself."

Ramsay cried when a Michelin Star was taken away from one of his restaurants. White became an endorser of Knorr products (which is where most of his cooking videos online came from) as a way to help homecooks. Ramsay does his own homecooking vids but would not be caught dead endorsing Knorr.

They certainly have a rivalry going on still, with both of them appearing in both Hell's Kitchen and Masterchef (though Marco has yet to appear in the US versions of these shows, where Gordon is the big judge). Personally though, I prefer Marco's easygoing but quiet intimidation of aspiring chefs, compared to Gordon's profanity laced screeching.

how a man can be this based is beyond me

I think either he's being sponsored by Knorr or some other stock cube makers - I've seen quite a few of his videos showing this stock cube paste thing.
Never really got around doing it - perhaps I'll give a try...

I don't know if it's true, but from what I read, he was using them well before Knorr sponsored him, and because he recommended them on occasions, they offered him a sponsorship deal.

His Knorr series of home cook recipes is a great primer for anyone looking to improve their kitchen skills. He's a delightfully serious yet dryly funny guy.

The man loves his stock pots.

His Oxford Q&A is really inspiring although obviously it's mostly a story he has rehearsed many times.

Back in the day he used to take people's wives and girlfriends into the office in his restaurant and fuck them between courses.
