jooey said:well obviously even nintendo doesn't know where to begin with that. you're going to have to experiment and find your own comfort level.

fallout said:I use Standard Mode (with the thumb nub) and provided that you're patient enough to give it a little while, it'll make for an adequate replacement to the analog stick. It's not as good as an analog stick, but it's certainly adequate.
john tv said:I only played for 15 minutes, but so far, both d-pad and touch mode control like crap IMO. This game desperately needs an analog stick...

thom said:It is annoying...even though every mario game that predates mario 64 required us to hold down a button to run fast.
This is a lot easier if you're using Wario. Also, if you jump out of the gas and then back into it quickly, the game will automatically hurt you (and again, you temporarily lose control over Mario) when re-entering the gas.
Andy787 said:I'm still kind of dissapointed with the touch mode. Maybe it's just because the analog circle moves with your finger, but the thing is just so imprecise, and for a platformer, especially SM64, control is paramount.
The thing that probably annoys me most though, is that performing the run-one-direction-then-180-the-other-way jump is almost impossible to pull off with any consistency, and I used that pretty much constantly through SM64 =/

It doesn't make any sense. If anything, it should reward you for TRYING to stay out of the gas, and it did just that in the Nintendo 64 version.
I assumed the stuff in the actualy maze part of Hazy Maze Cave. As I said in my earlier post, it's a lot easier with Wario because he doesn't stop whenever he gets hurt and he can jump in and out of it without getting hurt.KarishBHR said:Whats the Gas?
