So many more I wanted to add like Iron Fist but this is my "safe bet list" of cast I expect will make it in fairly easily. Here's hoping I'm right because my Capcom side aint that safe lol. I'd just like to see Dino Crisis, Godhand, Sengoku Basara, and Powerstone in the game this time around is all.

They just insured that I'm going to buy DLC for this game if this is true. I'm all in. Can't wait to play this.

Honestly I'm not surprised with that move because of a rumor that Neoxon brought to my eyes. He said there is a rumor where Marvel is going to loose up the blacklist (or ban list) with Fox characters starting next year. I presume that they probably worked out with some kind of deals so both sides are happy with what they got.
If your source is correctly then I'm pretty sure there would be many happy fans are willing to shell out their money to get their favorite X-Men characters. Heck, I would.
I'm happy but considering how much costumes cost in SFV, I bet they'll be more expensive. T_T

That makes sense to me as this game would've started development while the Fox ban was in place, but now they're said to be easing up on those characters so they have a chance as DLC.

I really don't know much about the base roster at the moment, but I would guess so. I'm not sure why X-Men and Fantastic Four would be singled out as DLC if they were going to be on the disc.

They cost that much because all the gameplay affecting stuff (characters,stages) can be purchased with in-game currency so you don't HAVE to pay.
This game is most likely gonna have paid-only characters though so the cost should be less. Or at least I hope so.

With all the changes they're making and how screwed up SFV launched they can't afford to please fans. And as soon as they started appealing to the FGC crowd with Mahvel references it was obvious to me that those characters are not going to be shunned.
Bringing back fan favorites is the easiest way to increase interest among pessimistic Marvel FGC peeps.

This game continues to sound worse than UMvC3 in every way. At least that game is now readily available to everyone.
This makes sense. The official word is that the Fox character ban was only lifted recently, correct? They probably didn't have an opportunity to add X-Men and Fantastic Four characters when they were locking down the roster, but do now, when they are looking at the game's future. It's unfortunate, but better than nothing I suppose.
Yeh, the update to Ultimate and keeping the old dlc as dlc was strange and short sighted.

That only happened because making them free in Ultimate would completely fuck over the people that had bought them.
So, what X-Men and Fantastic Four characters do people want?
For me, Dust and Annihilus respectively.
We can probably forget about Gwenpool being in the base game, then.
Since Dust and Annihilus are extremely unlikely to ever make it, this doesn't change anything for me, except having to wait even longer for characters I actually want. I'm happy for fans of those characters though.

I don't know. I'm assuming X-Men were off limits back when the base roster was being finalized. Or maybe it was more along the lines of "you can include them, but only as DLC" in order to keep the X-Men off the box art and out of story mode.

I mean, it makes sense from a licensing decision. It allows the game to continue to be supported indefinitely from the Marvel side and allow contracts with Fox to be worked with on their end.
