I wish her the best of luck. My sister was an anorexic for a bit, and has thankfully since recovered. Been almost 10 years for her. It's no easy thing to shake, and it's a pretty high percentage of people who die from it.

Now if only Lara Flynn Boyle would get some help so I wouldn't have to see pics of her in her bikini. Urk.

such a shame.

Why is it that girls who should have no problems in the world go and invent themselves one? seriously.

Is her sister still meaty?

HA! Now Ashley's gonna have an eating problem b/c now everyone knows she's the fat twin. PEACE.

Winner.

Am I the only one who is thinking of that episode where the oldest sister starts eating nothing but ice cubes so she can be thin for the swim party?

i find both of them utterly disgusting....no i would not hit it under any circumstance unless they broke bread with me. skin and fuckin bones, there is no pleasure in hitting that imo.

Someones obviously never played the xylophone........

I don't really get this anorexia thing. Is it psychological, as in there is no desire or will to eat or is there a physical reason which develops that prevents a person from eating properly?

A lot of the time nowadays it is blamed on standards that average girls cannot keep up with. They consider themselves "fat" no matter how large they may be and do what they can to get smaller and smaller. This girl could be a lot worse.

Usually you never get over this though, even after treatments. The vocalist from the Carpenters is a good example. She wound up overdosing on Ipecac after making supposed progress.

Psychological, they see skin as fat pretty much, so any skin fold = fat and so on. I lack the capability to sympathise with the illness, though a friend of my gf has the condition pretty chronically, it's messed up, their heads look huge, start getting very hairy and in the severe stages things such as walking up stairs burns to many calories so it must be avoided.

Huh... I thought she died from hear failure brought on buy her disorder. Constantly vomiting weakens the heart over time. She was supposedly over her disease when she dropped dead. That's why it was such a tragic death.

I see. It's just hard to relate when for most people the opposite is true, eat more and more. I guess it's a product of society like obesity, quick and easy access to food promoted by commercialisation versus a desire to attain certain physical goals in accordance with societal demands.

This is the truth as I know it. In the 70s, though, she took a lot of drugs (thank you, tame doctors) to 'perfect' her anorexia. Those are probably what brought on a lot of the damage.

It is odd. I hear the AMA recommends "beating" them out of it.

I got my tag from that Star Jones picture. :(

That Star cover is too funny. They show a girl with anorexia, and then: "WHO GOT SKINNY! WHO GOT FAT!"

Bastards
