A train leaves Chicago going 55 miles per hour...no, I kid.

"A gardener has 120 ft of deer-resistant fence. She wants to enclose a rectangular vegetable garden in her backyard, and she wants the area enclosed to be at least 800 ft^2. What range of values is possible for the length of her garden?"

Now, it would be nice if the book gave an example for me to learn from but there's nothing. I could brute force the answer but I don't think the teacher would appreciate that at all. Thanks in advance.

I'll get you started.

Let x=length of the rectangle
Let y=Width of the rectangle

2x+2y <= 120
x*y >= 800

(l)*(h)>=800
(2l)+(2h)<=120

combining will result in a quadratic, solve for zeros and between them is your range

2h=120-2l
h=60-l

l*(60-l)=800

l^2-60l+800=0
l-20=0
l-40 =0
l=20 and l=40 anywhere between them should be fine
