Max Payne Official Movie Trailer

wow, that actually looks pretty awesome. maybe over the top in terms of action, but if they manage to pace the story well enough, Max Payne could make a great movie...

Hadn't heard those rumors. I certainly hope they're false, or at least that Remedy has people overseeing MP3. Really, though, I want them to have two teams working simultaneously.

Alan Wake isn't vaporware? Kidding, actually very much looking forward to playing it while listening to Chinese Democracy.
Alan Wake is going to own your soul and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as that nostalgia-fueled pipedream.

But Remedy is a small team, so they're not working on two games at the same time. I like Rockstar's games A LOT, but I'm not sure they can match Remedy's writing, technical fidelity and overall polish. A Max Payne game with Euphoria would be so, so brilliant tho.

I've had this trailer on my mind all morning

....despite the so so cut together voice over, I can't stop thinking about how visually interesting it looks. Which isn't too suprising as one of the director's previous works, Behind Enemy Lines, is a rather bland movie but it's overall direction made it worth a damn
I'm also really suprised just how much they did seemingly go for a feel and look of the game. I really thought they were going to do a super loose adaptation of Max Payne....hell I wasn't gonna be suprised if they even changed the name as it would be fairly awkard to hear from the uninitiated without snickering

Definitely going to see it this Oct.

Finally saw the trailer. I'm a bit dissapointed, honestly. Not really digging the look of it all, and I'm just not getting that 'hardcore' feel that the games always had. And what the fuck are Ludacris and Marlo Stanfield doing in my Max Payne?....bleh (loved Marlo in The Wire, but his character in Max Payne...not so much).

Mila Kunis as Mona Sax. :\ But the movie looks great so far. I hope to see more.

Lol. Ludacris as Bravura. Nice.:lol

LMAO!!!! Oh well. Could have been a lot better, but its decent...I'll give it a watch...maybe.

Marky Mark really doesn't fit imo. He looks more like a MUCH younger version of Max in Max Payne 1 and I prefered the Max Payne 2 look of him much more.

This looks really faithful to the games. Excitement +1 (from 0)
Yeah, actually, I can't think of another movie that's managed to capture the "vibe" from a game as much as this one (judging from the trailer that is). It'll probably be an interesting watch if anything.

I'm in!
Can't be worse than Hitman!

I thought that trailer looked great and faithful to the series.

I'm confused about those flying things though.
Valkyrie Drug sequence.

Also, are they bringing the crazy gothic club owning Gangster butcher to the film?

Looks pretty cheesy in a fun sort of way.

Oh, and Max Payne 2 would have been much cooler had they left the grey streaks in his hair like they originally showed, rather than making him younger to appeal to hipsters who could never fathom themselves playing a grizzled, middle-aged detective.

Well, that was during production.
Movies are rated after post-production, when the movie is FINISHED.
Who's to say they won't add some CG in there that would make it R?

...I hope they do, at least. lol

But yeah... the movie looks promising.

if they shoot it as a pg13, there is not much you can do (Alien vs. Predator 1 for example).
yes, they can add cgi blood or implement more fucks or cursing, but pg13 is pg13.

can you show long, slow motion shoot outs with pg13?

edit: Also, I was wondering, do you think the Max Payne games are still worth playing, for someone who is uninitiated to the series? I have a PS2 and an Xbox 360... which versions should I play if I do decide to pick them up?

xbox version.
but the pc version is the way to go.

I would play the PC version, but my PC is an outdated pile of shit that can't even run Halo: Combat Evolved. You mean that the Xbox version plays well on 360, right?

dude don't worry about it. My old computer couldn't run Halo but Max Payne ran perfectly fine.

Get the PC version...

Definitely doesn't look bad. It has the Max Payne style visually. Let's hope the plot holds up. I have faith that the action will be pretty cool, let's just hope it isn't bogged down by cheesy plot or acting.

the pal version of max payne 2 runs on the 360, but has more slow-downs when a lot of stuff is going on.
dont know about the us version.

Looks pretty decent. A lot for concepts from the trailer look somewhat un-Max Payneish, but I'll probably check it out either way.

Anyone who thinks that the movie will deal in the supernatural, in one way or another, due to those flying black angels or the monologue about 'god', should be shot in the knee-cap. Twice.

I'll be damn, I wasn't expecting much, but that looks actually pretty cool and even has the feel and stylistic visual flair of Max Payne, looks fairly faithful to it's source material.
