Looks good imo.

Looks as if they pulled several scenes / moments straight from the game, as many of those scenes bring back a lot of fond gaming memories.

before i see the trailer, i have high hopes for it with mark wahlberg in it. and i hope mila is as hot as she was in sarah marshall.

hm, wats up with the flying people? ive never played the games but i thought it was just a crime game?

It's been said before. They are the "Flesh of Fallen Angels". Put in place as Grim Reapers to carry the souls of his criminal enemies to purgatory in Paynes drug induced nightmarish hallucinations... still with me?

They are much more than that. The Max Payne story is one of my favorites in gaming, really good stuff.

Yeah he uses drugs often to cope with the tragic lost of his family and to plug the pain of bullet holes...
The story is really deep. Almost has some strong biblical implications to it...

hmmm :|

trailer looks kinda cheesy but somehow entertaining.

I always thought the Max Payne model from the first game looked like such a douche. I think I'm about to install the second game again. Does anybody think it would be worth it to buy Max Payne off steam for 10 bucks?

Have to say trailer looked better than I had thought but then again, the Hitman trailer looked very close to the game as well and but the movie itself wasn't.

For comparison, here's a trailer for Max Payne video game. If they had used this theme on the movie it would've been better.

I would play the PC version, but my PC is an outdated pile of shit that can't even run Halo: Combat Evolved. You mean that the Xbox version plays well on 360, right?

That's cause Halo PC was a piece of crap that ran like dogshit. Max Payne 1 and 2 ran a lot better on my previous rig as well.

what's that from?

Nip/Tuck, season 5 somewhere I think?

Looking good. My interest in this jumped a few months back when i read Shawn Ryan (creator/writer of The Shield) was writing the screenplay. I think it looks pretty faithful from the trailer. The potential is there for it to be great.

You know, after seeing Sin City, I only felt that Robert Rodriguez would the perfect person to direct a Max Payne movie.

It's a shame he isn't directing this, but I won't lie -- that trailer wasn't too bad.

Too much talking by people not Payne. Hopefully that's just the trailer.

True, Silent Hill had that issue as well. Wtf was up with all the people? Should have just been Sean Bean strolling around in the fog.

Christ. A good comic book film and a good game movie in the same year? 2012 is indeed the end of the world. Too many good things are happening.

I watched The Happening yesterday... it was so incredibly bad. The acting was horrendous and now I really have a hard time taking Mark seriously :(

I liked the trailer. It had the feel of the first game but it didn't look like it, and that's good. A movie based on a license should be an interpretation suited for cinemas not a conversion.

It's amazing how many people in this thread seem to think that.

That's how the trailer is selling itself. Either it's true, or it's a huge bait and switch.

I know it's hard to explain drug induced hallucinations in the tiny amount of time available in the trailer. My point is, it's not surprising that people think this is Max Payne + Constantine, 'cos that appears to be what the trailer is selling us. How are the people watching meant to know if it isn't real?
