Software numbers are typically posted on Wednesday nights.
Hardware numbers are typically posted Thursday nights at about 8:20 PM Eastern.

I'd like to see how that blog responds now. Less than 500k because of Galaxy's first week numbers, riiiiight. :lol

HUGE dropfor SMG :(
Everyone was busy buying Smash. It should pick up sometime in the next few weeks I'd imagine.

A 360 title in the top ten, and 6 of the games are on Sony platforms. On an unassuming day, you might think this was a good thing for the "other guys" for once... but then...

...dun dun dun...

SMASH BROS *radiant glow*

WOAH! Great numbers all round this week! 360 in the Top 10 with a 40k title, PS3 in with three new titles doing better than I personally expected of any, and Smash... *kneels*

Jesus Smash Bros. did better than I expected. Insane

Hmm I guess SMash isn't doing well. :lol

Awesome numbers. I guess this is part of the reason for the delay to make sure enough stock?

Unfortunately, most of those titles will drop off within a few weeks. Haruhi definitely will, otaku games are very front loaded.

We'll never know when Galaxy passes 1 million, unless Nintendo tell us. :(

AWESOME for Smash though! Even higher than Sinobi's number!

I didn't mention Haruhi in my post :P I know they'll drop off, but the titles are still performing better than I expected for Week One. And I'm just genuinely surprised DMC4 360 took so many sales from the PS3 version, didn't see that one coming.

Funny thing is, with the information we have from MC, it may have actually sold more units than last week. Famitsu probably tells the more complete story.

Last week #10 ended at ~15,000, and Galaxy fell 7 spots below that.
This week #10 ends at ~26,000, so it's possible (though not likely) that even as low as it is, it still sold comparable or more than last week.

Galaxy's "drop" may not be so much a drop as the bar merely being raised.
hey I tried here, cut me some slack

SMG first week was around 350k. 2months later was about 800k.
So can we say:
SMBB first week was around 800k. 2 months later 1.8mi ?

Nice performance by Family Ski.

Oh yeah, that Smash thing did pretty good too I guess. It just might out do Melee.

Damn.

Look at that Wii go. It's just inching more and more to the # of NDS software in the rankings. Soon Wii will be in the double digits! Impressive.

And of course SSBB owns everything.

Wow what a wierd week to see Ps3 and 360 in the top 10...

Damn Nintendo sure Smashed Japan! Nearly 1 mill right out of the gate! If they hadn't been in short supply who knows how well Brawl could have done.

Fuck Galaxy, it's in the past, it's dead and buried. It's gone.

...Seriously though, that is a bit of a dropoff!

F*ck Japan. Sales for it in North America and Europe have been more than great.

wow! didn't thought about it... good to know.

Damn! The last time I remember seeing a game selling that much in the first week was NSMB.

On the other hand, Psfamily took over the top 10...

I didn't notice Family Ski. Impressive for what it is, I think. I wonder if anyone bought it because of Balance Board support...?

Had alot of new releases. Nintendo mainly dominates with legacy titles. So anytime a large batch of new releases come out, Nintendo gets pushed out

I know.
Still it´s kinda unusuall latelly... hell even the 360 has a game in the top 10 thanks to DMC4.

This is the first really solid week for PS3 software in a wild, at least in terms of the top 10.

speaking of which anyone know how well previous Disgaea games sold in their first week compared to Disgaea 3?

Amazing numbers for Smash and all around, really. Brawl should easily pass the million mark next week.

Question: what is the largest first week for a game in Japan? I'd assume it's a Dragon Quest game.

No doubt. I dont even know why Namco made their own board, though I doubt Nintendo would be generous enough to allow Bamco to pack the Balace Board with FS...even though that makes sense

I am not sure those Smash Bros. numbers are accurate. Go check on how Zelda and Mario Galaxy did on their first way to get more accurate representation on how Smash did.
