I know, but the 360 increase from 7 weeks ago to now, will become pointless for Microsoft after spent so much security on RPGs where Sony don't have one on this term.harSon said:

What you said is the equivalent of someone stating that, upon seeing the Dec2007 NPD results, the PS3 had completely eroded the lead that the GBA gained in the summer of 2007 in just one month - there was never a real battle going on, it was just a yardstick for how poorly the PS3 was performing at that time.
That said - this is a pretty good HW week for PS3 and I think those sales for LBP look alright. Hopefully good word of mouth keeps it around for a few more weeks.

PS3 did better than what I at least expected, not bad at all. Will be interesting to see how the demand develops from here on out, esp. regarding the key titles.
Bad considering it was supposed to be a big title even in Japan. But it did OK in regards to more realistic expectations imo.fanboi said:

Nice 160k for GTAIV. 34k too high for GT5P Spec III, although I suppose its counting the units bundled with 80GB SKUs. I doubt the standalone version sold that much.
Okay for Valkyrie, the same number VP PSP port pulled (but in 4 days rather than 2). At least its no Sigma. Okay too I guess for Chocobo Wii-to-DS cash-in.

So sad Avalon Code numbers, alongside new Harvest Moon Wii doing even worse than the previous one. Poor Marvelous. I hope Rune Factory does way better, and I'm already setting me up for disappointment with Nostalgio no Kaze next week.

According to YOY summaries, this week and next week are supposed to be the beginning of the end-of-year climb. DS is up (DSi), PSP is up (PSP3K), PS3 is up (BUNDLEBUMP). But look at Wii and 360 and you'll see that they've been amazingly consistent for the past month but have a comparitive "down" week this week.
What gives? I think we have to look at what the market will bear. I'm going to start doing charts based on total units sold for all consoles and compare that YOY. I think that there are some X number of units that will sell each week, and the closer that we approach that number, the more sales of one will eat into the sales of another. Read: Wii and 360 each did not have their expected end-of-year beginning climb this week because of PS3's bundlebump.

Really good DSi and PS3 sales this week. Many people were clearly expecting the new 80GB bundles to buy a PS3 hence the really low sales in the previous weeks after TGS.
When do sales start to pick up typically in Japan? Last week of November or earlier?
