They aren't forgetting? Then without adequate information you can't really say its an out and out disappointment. if it has 150k DLs then that makes it a lote more respectable in the sales count(except that console Gts sell truckloads more than that).

Very frankly, when it comes to Japan and downloads, don't keep your hopes high. It only hurts more.

Not even close to that, no. But at the 2009 Vision event, Akihiro Hino said that he wanted the second game to do considerably more than what the first game did, with expectations of 800,000 to a million units sold. I would assume this is based on increased brand awareness, stronger advertising, and the dual-SKU release, but really, I can only speculate as to what makes him think the goal is achievable.

But... given that the sequel has outsold the first game's lifetime sales in its second week, though, and given how successful Level-5 has been at cultivating sales successes so far... who knows. Maybe it is achievable. Though I think he's likely to see the game fall just slightly short of that goal. 700k seems more doable.

Tomodachi collection has amazing legs i must say! Only a 7% drop from last week, which is a very small drop compared to what other games might drop. And it still sells many copies on a weekly basis eventhough that it is many weeks since the game was released. Wii Sports Resort also holds up pretty nicely with only a 10% drop, very nice legs

Monster Hunter 3 Wii also seems to have some nice legs. With the upcoming holiday season, i guess that MH3 wont have any big problems of selling over 1 million copies (LTD number)

These are all the numbers we have from m-create. Media Create started providing yearly top500 after 2006. For the years before that it's top 10 and leaked numbers.

EDIT: And the 2009 numbers are also what we got from top 10 until now. When 2009 top500 comes out we will have the clear picture.

The big delay of the famitsu leak at 2ch the last 2 weeks is very annoying. At least we got the famitsu hardware numbers. The drill blog (m-create estimate) has Wii and PS3 both at 30K.

I have started to update and the famitsu database I have. The ammount of data is huge (1995-today) and makes the m-create one look very small in front of it. I hope by the time I post the new m-create file next year (when we get the top 500) I will also have ready and the famitsu. That's not a promise, since I don't have the free time to deal seriously with it, but I'll try it.
