Looking at these PS4 sales and it points to a PS5. PS4 is still king in the west but has fallen off in Japan.

I really don't see what these numbers have to do with PS5 next year? PS4 has kind of been dead for a long time now.

I mean I'm not saying it won't happen, it definitely could. I just don't see why this week's MC would indicate it.

Its not so much just this week, its been like you said the past little while. PS4 is pretty much done in Japan and it doesn't have another Monster Hunter to give it a push.

With the numbers we are seeing in Japan Sony must be thinking about PS5 pretty heavily. PS4 is still doing great in the US but I doubt Sony wants to concede the Japanese market.

Sony doesn't care about the Japanese market as much as it used to. This was the territory where they launched the PS4 6 months later (Mar 2014 I think?) with basically no titles appealing to the Japanese for a year (PS3 was outselling it at time during that period). The PS4 currently is now slightly down YoY, and probably will end up a bit down by the end. It also has had very few titles could push hardware after MHW this year in JP. If Sony wants to release PS5 next year, it's because of the West / RoTW, not Japan where they've sold less than 10% of their sales thus far. PS4 will have KH3, DMCV & RER2 early 2019 btw (KH3 & RER2 release the same day lol).

Impressive numbers for Minecraft for Switch. It would be good to see other third party games selling like that on Switch.

And poor Naruto to Boruto,at lest for me the numbers are very low and this might lead the game to bargain bin soon.
