So I think these are likely to be the biggest PS4 titles each month for the next 6 months or so:
Sep - Destiny
Oct - The Evil Within
Nov - Call of Duty Advanced Warfare
Dec - Grand Theft Auto V
Jan - Far Cry 4
Feb - Bloodborne
Mar - Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
March will also have Disgaea 5, and Yakuza 0 should be around March/April too. It's a pretty thin line-up overall until Feb anyway, mostly being kept alive by western games. It's funny because even The Evil Within is a western publisher, even though it's Mikami.
Destiny should be able to do >150k on the PS4, but legs will determine if it can hit 200k. Word of mouth will probably be key there.
The Evil Within... honestly I really don't know. I feel like there's zero hype for it anywhere in the world. Wouldn't be surprised if it tanked with <100k.
It'll be interesting to see if the CoD AW split is similar to Destiny's. If it is, that could be a really big title for PS4, since it sells almost 300k on PS3 normally.
GTAV is another interesting one. The TLoU and Tomb Raider remasters both did ~40k on the PS4 which isn't that great, but GTAV is a much bigger title, and the remaster looks much more significant. If it still moves similar numbers, that would tell us that the PS4 audience right now doesn't care for remasters much.
Would't it be strange for SE to release DQH and FF0HD on the same month?Dragon Quest Heroes is march according to my sources (a believed retailer).
If they can't be on time, then it will be april-May, cause the game is dated for spring 2015 in Square Enix official page.
Would't it be strange for SE to release DQH and FF0HD on the same month?
That's true. I just thought they would be worried sales might overlap a little and eat into each other. Not if they're trying to pad their earnings before the close of the financial year. They haven't released much this year have they?
Deus Ex, despite being heavily rumored for unveil (they usually follow up on their trademarks within a couple months too, which were back in April/May), is also MIA, so they might have a large hole to fill in their financial calendar compared to their original expectations. Not if they're trying to pad their earnings before the close of the financial year. They haven't released much this year have they?
Isn't Dragon Quest Heroes in March? Something like that?
I think there's no secret title. Didn't Sony already correct their TGS page?
10:40 – 20th Year Anniversary – Dengeki PlayStation Big Announcement Special – December this year is PlayStation’s 20th anniversary, as well as Dengeki PlayStation’s. Here, a special project for the future will be announced. Featuring Yoshimichi Nishioka (Dengeki PlayStation Editor-In-Chief).

Totally anecdotal things in this post, but Destiny popped up more than a few times in my Facebook feed from Japanese friends. Even the girl who works for Nintendo bought the white PS4 edition and she has been happy. Not like people can't buy consoles from competing companies anyway.
Before that, not many of my japanese friends talked about buying a PS4. Like at all really. Only about MGS when it was released.
Now, it has been Final Fantasy XIV video posts all day long. That should create a biiiig splash when released. Also Bloodborne is sure to create a good bumb. Bot of these are far away though. I wonder what games can keep the momentum for PS4 in Japan or if it will fall down below 10 000 again soon.
Monhan of course is crazy popular. Cashcow no matter where its released.
I think titles like Bayonetta 2, Devil's Third, etc. are intended to change perception of Nintendo's brand, Iwata was saying there was a perception that Nintendo is casual. Or uninterested in certain kinds of content. So Nintendo does see value in changing the perception of what titles they are interested in.
I've heard the phrase "prestige title" used to classify that kind of title whose purpose is to change the perception of a brand. A guy at a car dealership once told me that car manufacturers make high end or unusual models, send them to races, to add to the prestige and perception of the brand, so maybe it's the same idea
Maybe when all is said and done, people will note Nintendo's efforts to get their customers to play online (SSB, Splatoon, Devil's Third, Xenoblade X it seems, they're upcoming games that are going to have online aspects), to buy digital content, to connect through Miiverse...or maybe there isn't much interest in their brand at all and thus not much of a perception to change. This is all rather qualitative for a sales thread though so I'll shut up now ;-)
March is also when life and hometown go HD, with Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. Interested in seeing the PS4/Vita split for that game.
Not if they're trying to pad their earnings before the close of the financial year. They haven't released much this year have they?
Amazing to see such significant sell-through of the shipped amount for Smash Bros. Very happy for all involved!
It seems that before releasing Hyrule Warriors, Koei said they had another colaboration's game (this DQH) planned for the second half of the fiscal year.
I can't search the source because I'm using the phone. If somebody can check it...
この夏、「ゼルダ無双」がWii U用タイトルとして発売される。襟川社長は具体的なタイトルは発表しなかったが「下半期においても他大型コラボレーションを準備している」とコメントしている。
Are you talking about this one?

Definitely sounds like it's within this financial year then. So unless it's delayed beyond their control, DQH will probably land in March.

Couldn't that be One Piece Musou 3?

If that Final Fantasy schedule (FF every 3 months starting December) is accurate, hopefully we can knock 2 birds out with one stone; The PS4 has a regular schedule of games (a luxury the WiiU doesn't have), albeit Western orientated ones, but surely that regular output of games in a timely manner should be more than enough to get it the fuck away from WiiU territory right...?
....
...right?
If that Final Fantasy schedule (FF every 3 months starting December) is accurate, hopefully we can knock 2 birds out with one stone;
1: Getting the PS4 to a healthier baseline
2: Making people so sick of Final Fantasy that the series finally dies
Wow, just noticed that Yokai Watch 2 still did 46k even with it being down 26%. Incredible to think of that applying a 2 month old game.
There's no FF schedule.
Road was joking.
Nintendo choose the wrong game to fund
Speaking of the limited edition DQH PS4....

I looked at the press release again, and aside from having no date, it also has no price. If Sony is looking to drop the price of the PS4 at around that time, this might be the perfect way to do it. Otherwise I think they'll wait until later in the year before considering a price drop. Maybe with MGSV or FFXV.
If Type0HD, DQ slime PS4 and DQ Heroes are all hitting in March, I hope Sony does what you said and does a PS4 price-cut with them.
I think we're definitely looking at a Q1 2015 for PS4 that is do or die. There are enough big titles coming out in rapid succession which are about as appealing to the Japanese console audience as we can ever get, with even bigger titles promised on the near horizon for the rest of the year. If the PS4 sales don't pick up in a very significant way, we can at least be certain then that it's basically doomed like the WiiU. So it's going to be very exciting to look forward to.
Well PS4 sales picked up in a significant way with Destiny, so I can't see how it doesn't pick up with next year's schedule.

Man after TGS and how aggressive most thirds parties are releasing stuff on PS4, I doubt the thing goes sub 10k again, hell starting in Feb I doubt it goes below 20k!.
Expecting price drops for both WiiU and PS4 next spring, i also think that Nintendo will release Animal Crossing WiiU around the same time that the MK8 DLC pack hits. The game will probably be the mayor announcement for the console in the first Direct of 2015.
I won't be surprised if it goes below 10K this week
Seriously, after those heavy hitters appear baseline may rise quite a bit.
And yes, I am really surprised how many Japanese third parties are on board, even some of them are cross gen (by looking at Japanese internet it seems many of Japanese gamers are thinking the same way). Who would expect that to happen before Sony's pre-TGS conference?
Do Namco have anything new for PS4 bar Gundam? I'm aware of God Eater, but that's more of an expansion than anything

There was that Morpheus high school girl in your room simulator.
Dragon Ball and Pirate Warriors 3 (yes developer is KT I know but publisher is still Bamco).

Gundam
IM@S (announced last year, no update yet)
God Eater
Tekken
Lords of Fallen
One Piece Musou
Dragon Ball Xeno
Fair enough. The 3DS still has some life left in it indeed.A decline is simply a decline, while stagnation is something much more severe more akin to having reached the maximum attach rate, which at this point is simply hyperbole in my opinion, looking at past weeks sales performances and especially last weeks sales performance despite the announcement of a new model, seeing how we´ll be looking at multimillions of system sold this year alone, and about further millions in the next few years.
If we assume 4m-6m from now on are reachable, we would talk about a sales volume of 25%-37% of its current lifetime sales.
That would be really cool. Making an episode with each archfiend, how they became being a monster and having a fight at the end.I prefered a Soul Sacrifice anime
I can't see a second AC on 3DS, even on n3DS. Seeing how similar those games are*, I don't think it has the potential to be a success remotely comparable to the first game (and most die-hard AC fans probably still play it at least from time to time).I wonder if Nintendo is even wasting their time with AC Wii U and not just working on the next handheld game.
