People bring up this disparity but DS sold to every cat and their dog, 3DS sells to gamers, so the userbase is loyal to 'hardcore' games and software, a variety of software, sells very well but the userbase is also well established by now and I don't see any particular piece of software making that big a difference. Of course the new 3ds models will bump it noticeably. I think the overall picture of the 3DS is very solid, a place for game enthusiasts who are willing to spend a lot of money on games.
Released September 14. last year so I guess so. The 3DS should have insane last year sales these next weeks as Pokemon released not long after and gave it some more 100k+ weeks. Sales in December 2013 were quite poor compared to 2012 though.

Those xbone sales are not unexpected.
Not everyone likes realistic driving games & dudebro shooters, there needs to be more variety as the launch lineup is dire if you don't happen to be huge fans of racing or fps, im sure awesome games will come in time but most likely not from Japan as with figures that low it would be financial suicide to develop some AAA games for it in Japan.

Did Japan get the white ps4 as well? Japan as a region seems to be the active in buying hardware thanks to new colors of all the regions we usually get numbers for.

Western games have been selling better on PS4 than PS3 despite the install base.
Destiny also smashed Titanfall. Not really surprising, but still. Has to make Bungie happy.

3DS bump is a little disappointing but I expected it to be mild (although I hoped for more).

That's a whole lot of inference. It might be the reason why the 3DS is considerably selling less YoY but the New 3DS models are the most direct reason for the lack of the hardware bump due to smart consumers wanting the latest models since they are sold at about the same price. It's the same reason that in May, the XB1 sales dropped like a rock in NPD and doubled in June, especially considering there's not a whole lot of overlap with fighting games and hunting action games or rpgs
