You expect PS4 to sell more 1.8 million next year? That's high goal considering PS3's peak year doesn't even sell 1.8 mil in Japan.

Gah!

That was a screw up on my part.

To nearly double WiiU's peak full year of sales along 12 months. I keep forgetting it had a really good launch in comparison to its first and second full year. So around 900k-1.2 million units. I'll have a better idea of where it will fall when I've seen what some popular Japan oriented software does for it.

Hm? If you're talking about the first full year the Wii U sold 1.219.474 (12/3/2012 to 12/3/2013). No way is the PS4 going to sell 2.4M in 1 year lol. Wii U 2013 calendar year was like 880K.

Bad performance all around but PS4 bolstered by better support over its life. WiiU never cracking the 3.5 million unit mark and PS4 struggling to get past 5 million units. One isn't even worth mentioning. It will be lucky to hit 200k units total.

Next week, SCE is going to have a special NicoNico livestream for... White Knight Chronicles. On PS3. Akihiro Hino will be there.

Guess the mysterious PS4 game Level-5 is supposed to be working on is probably a sequel to that game. And since the stream is a bit late (10.30PM JST), I think the possibility of a WW announcement is high.

Wait, what?

This is out of the blue. That would be a strange way to announce a game.

Not as strage as having a livestream about a game that came out 4 years ago. And with the CEO of Level-5 as a special guest. I doubt he got time for random livestreams, so I'm sure there's going to be some sort of announcement. Besides, the 27th is a Thursday, Famitsu magazine release day.

Disappointment if true, but then again I'm not a fan of L5 so w/e.

WKC is free on PS Plus this month. They're just showcasing it before it rotates out in December I think. I wouldn't expect any announcement or anything.

Shoot that's true. Nintendo releases are usually Saturdays.

Totally forgot that today in Japan was a Friday.

No queues then ;.;

Nintendo often used Nov.21 to release the big hit for the incoming winter holidays

the first example which comes to my mind is Super Famicom, launched on this day 24 years ago

I don't know if this day is particular for them in some way...

Would be cool see Level 5 working on a next-gen system, even with their handheld and mobile focus the still have their high end teams to keep up with the latest tech.

Interested to see what they will show, don't expect them to go for another IP they don't own.

It's so mysterious I didn't even know it existed.

The Level-5 PS4 game? Akihiro Hino actually talked about it last year.

“It’s still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title,” said Hino. “We might be able to announce it soon.”

“PlayStation 4 is next-gen hardware built with the network in mind, so more than graphics performance and specs, we need to think about communication—how to use the network features.”

Then again, might have been thrown in the same drawer as the Layton 7 and the console version of Wonder Flick :p

Oh, I just meant I personally had no idea it existed.

Also as much as I enjoyed Ni no Kuni, I don't really think high end latest tech when I think Level-5.

The lack of spec talk and focus on network features leads me to think that he was talking about Wonder Flick.

Ewww, I´d rather have a NiNoKuni 2 with a good battle system and good sidequests than ....that.

Description on the NicoNico page doesn't say anything about an announcement or surprise, so it's probably nothing.

I dunno, probably (quote was before the game was revealed). But WF is also *supposed* to come out on other platforms. Kinda weird to talk only of a PS4 game, though it may have been due to the way the question was worded.

Level-5 has been real quiet about WF, ever since they launched the R (iirc) version a couple of months ago. And I don't think we've ever seen the vaporware console version, besides a couple of "screenshots".

But yeah, it's not like we have weeks to wait, anyway, and if we're lucky, we'll get Famitsu leaks before. Provided there's actually going to be something all, it's just some speculation on my part after all.

3K a week seems like a low average, even for wii U.

If you look at SCE's NicoNico page, you'll see that they stream older games, like the SCE contributions to a PS+ lineup. Last month they streamed Puppeteer. They didn't announce a sequel to that game during the broadcast.

Whats wth Captain Toad? its just a puzzle game, were people expecting it to top the chartz with all the competition this week?

This forum will hunt us forever.

Captain Toad went from 20-30% sellthrough first day to 40-60% for the week. It's very possible it will have legs as holiday season begins and I doubt anyone expected a cheap spin-off to become the next big hit. Smash is the Wii U title that will be crucial for Wii U performance this December.
