I would expect Capcom to continue support.
If anything MK is probably the exception.
Sony helped fund Street Fighter V, therefore it's a PS4 console exclusive game.

Not really Smash is still alive and well. The only reason convincing evidence would be if both Pokken and Tekken 7 bomb, otherwise it's really just conjecture, considering the recent success of fighting games.
Yeah, people should just get over it. Street Fighter V has been partially funded by Sony (and probably Sony is the reason the game came out earlier than what Ono expected. Much earlier, precisely). So, it can't come on other consoles at all (PC is the exception, and it's there).

Because Sony helped fund the game, Capcom has already said this numbered iteration of SF will be PS only.

It's highly likely to be a more already a more profitable adventure even should it bomb due to wii u. With the Pokémon brand it could do fairly well.
Tekken has shown decline and I'm expecting it to continue while Pokken will sell solely on the brand. The only fighting game success I see is MK and Smash with everything else whimpering in comparison to the old days.

Is AoT even a Musou game though? It doesn't seem to be advertised as one and there's no Musou in the title.

Probably, but maybe the lack of arcade release kinda hurt the brand. Or maybe Japan isn't into SF like before. We'll see if it can sell long term with the DLC promised starting March.

The industry consolidating to a few mega franchises is not new. How many popular fps franchises do you see being released or anything that's not open world. It's a reality of the industry.
Games like Smash, MK and Pokken will probably absorb SFV userbase and the genre will continue. Tekken is still doing well at arcades so I'm not sure Namco is too worried, especially now that they've diversified their portfolio with Popular IP's.

But you should count the special edition as 2 games, so, 40K x 2 = 80K.
That's part of why I made the statement I did though.
If we account for double buying being part of the number, only around ~40K more people actually bought the game from Japan.
By comparison, it's already past three months of US sales in three days.
There's the potential to have 75-80%+ of their sales come from overseas, which as far as things that actually sell in Japan go, is a split most akin to series like Metal Gear or Resident Evil (at least historically).
Perception is everything. It's an Omega Force game and has the same vibes no matter what they want to call it. Just like how DQH is "not" Musou. I expect DQH2 to underperform too. They have a specific gameplay brand here, and they need to rethink how to make it exciting again.
PSV version had some techinal issues, that possibly had effect on sales.

They keep talking about VR and VR games are usually mid-tier budgets at best.
They're not exactly splashing out cash on all the other games in the series right now either.

Capcom really is in shambles, I'm still shocked they realised it in such a barebones manner and didn't fund the game themselves and port it to every system under the sun, considering it was one of their few popular franchises.
Should MH go belly up and they continue not to strike gold in mobile, the companies going to be in some real trouble. (That's not to say it isn't in already).
AoT is a real not musou, unlike DQH not musou.
I wonder, has Capcom released any of their mobile & browser games already? I remember reading about them pouring the earnings from MonHun4 into a studio dedicated to develop those kind of games but I haven't read anything about them since then.

tbh with how capcom are I wouldnt be surprised if Ninty did fund a game of theirs. At least then Capcom would have 1 game funded by all 3 then. A trifecta.
Monster Hunter Explore came out and had okay, but not astonishing success. Capcom notes that the game is performing to expectations.
Capcom is also focusing on online PC games, and noted that Dragon's Dogma Online is similarly performing to expectations.
I believe that's it out of their new strategy so far, at least as far as flagships go. They may have had one other legacy Street Fighter mobile game they let finish development, but I don't think they announced it until it was out.

The Street Fighter game was Puzzle Spirits.
I'm seeing quite a variety of releases from them in 2015, but none have in app purchases, so I'm guessing they're distributing ad-revenue-only mobile games from some small time developers, or some intern-level projects they're using to train new staff.

SF sold more than that after all it's revisions, and also had an arcade release.
All hopes lie with Umbrella Corps being a breakout success.

who knows with Nintendo, who would of guessed Ninty would fund Bayo 2, its not like their usual game type afterall. Not sure what capcom ip Ninty would want to fund tbh as it pretty much anything is possible after Bayo 2.
