are we even going to compare the Vita boost at Price Drop to the 3DS boost at Price Drop?
What was the 3DS boost again I forget.

Depends on the RoI, I guess. We'll see if they keep making Vita stuff.Next up, DOA+. I wonder why Team Ninja keeps bothering with Vita, it's looking like DOAD will have outsold all their Vita efforts combined.
I had higher expectations because it's true that it was available on the store as a f2p game but Japanese people do still like to buy physical copies. Also it does not cost 5000 yen but more around 4000 yen, so it was a bugdet release in Japan. Also: does f2p means that it was completely free? Because if many contents must be purchased anyway, being a MMORPG, the cost of the retail version might be justified. Also: many people reported anecdotal evidence on how PSO2 was selling and in some stores was the second best selling game. Also: was there also a bundle? Also: it was released the week of the price cut, when generally people buy something. I mean, ok it is a f2p game, but there were reasons, many reasons, to think it could have done better.
Edit: it costs 5229 yen but I saw a 4200 yen version around. My point still stands.
I think that this tell us the most important thing about Vita, honestly.
New colors, price cut and "interesting" games (I don't know how many of the actually existing Vita games can aim to sell hugely more than Senran Kagura) set those numbers.
Numbers that are good, but lower than a normal 3DS week, and not so HUGE in general terms.
Only now you're worried about Vita sales?

Japan has been much more open to digital download recently. We've seen that with ~700k copies sold of Animal Crossing for example. PSO case is also a different case because there is the option to get it for free or pay 5k yen (although you get more DLC stuff when buying the retail version). It is not just a choice between owning the retail or digital download version.
The 4200 yen is probably Amazon price. They discount every single game.
Im pretty sure its F2P in the sense that you don't have to spend a penny. There is in game currency to buy things but you don't need to.
This is why I and others are surprised it even sold as much as it did. I would assume most people would just download it.
I think the fact the game is available completely free massively overrides any of the points you make. Like I said before..... just use that money to buy a memory card.
They were happy with the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 Vita sales, i guess that is why they did Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Vita as well.Next up, DOA+. I wonder why Team Ninja keeps bothering with Vita, it's looking like DOAD will have outsold all their Vita efforts combined.

Also: it was one of the most popular brands on PSP, even though with another genre.
Anyway, I did not say it bombed or something. It actually did pretty good being available for free as a digital version. I just said I had higher expectations (something more like 80k) and before knowing SK sales, I think many people though PSO2 was the game it would have sold the most this week on Vita.
Disappointing numbers...
Sales are going to drop down to 20k next week and then back down to 10k the following weeks.

I didn't expect PSO2 to even sell 50k. People must really like costumes.
Shining Ark did awful. Quite a bad sign for God Eater 2.

That would be cruel.
People must really want some game to play on their Vita, probably
PSP has been dying since last year.
Namco should have released GE2betafor the PSP last year and then release the 3DSfinishedenhanced version this year.
The 3DS sold 215,000 (16,415 week prior) the week after price-drop.

By the way, PSV Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 > WIU Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
The 3DS sold 215,000 (16,415 prior) the week after price-drop.
How does the 62,543 PSVita number calculate? Obviously the 4x statement wasn't accurate.
They don't have to buy the game to play it though.
Granted the 3DS price drop was bigger, but damn... I suppose that's the difference in having announced popular software on the way.
even with SS release?
why are they allowing free games in the charts?
one 2-week period vs the prior 2-week period, 4x
I don't think SS will make an impact on hardware sales.
No vita game really has.
Right, but I fear God Eater 2 could really do bad numbers. It's on PSP (console that can't guarantee good sales for games like in the past years) and Vita. A GE2: Burst on 3DS/Vita seems necessary to me in the future.
It would at least be reality
people forget 3DS was dead once, fair is fair
The 3DS sold 215,000 (16,415 prior) the week after price-drop.
The PSP games were mostly offline singleplayer/multiplayer stuff (did they even have online play?), so it is a different game in that regards. Also: it was one of the most popular brands on PSP, even though with another genre.

I would say that it would only be cruel if someone had cruel intention for posting it. Here are the comparison (without cruel intentions hehe ) , both Famitsu numbers:That would be cruel.
I hope for Nintendo's sake that this is the case with the WiiU as well. It would be bad if the current WiiU owners are little interested in the upcoming games.People must really want some game to play on their Vita, probably
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
I don't think SS will make an impact on hardware sales.

sales charts are for sales right, if a game is free how can it be counted as a sale?
I guess you mean after the 3DS price-drop announcement? The week after the actual pricedrop, the 3DS sold 107,462 (Famitsu number). The 3DS sold 215,000 (16,415 prior) the week after price-drop.
