I have an issue and im not sure whether or not to bother seeing a doctor (and if so, how urgent it should be).

Ive got this swolen area in the soft area under my chin. It started a few days ago. It doesnt hurt much unless i poke it, but i cant help but to touch it. It's not on the surface of the skin, it's underneath.

Is this a typical symptom of some specific ailment? Anything i should know or do?

I know the usual advice is "go see a doctor". Im probably going to.

Sometimes you have swelling in that area if your tonsils are infected. I had an infection that swelled that whole area once, all under my chin. Still, definitely go see a doctor as any growth can be dangerous

I'm with Mupepe, go see a doctor. A growth is something you should always get checked out.
