Mega Man Anniv. Collection Queries

Question, everyone...

Do we know if:

1) All the games in MMAC are emulated? Any chance some of them are just ports?

2) Is it true that the MM8 game is the Saturn version? What differences exist between it and the Sony one?

3) Are the extra soundtracks and enhancements still confirmed?

All are emulated.

Nope, it's the inferior PS1 version. :/

The Saturn version had faster loading, slightly more character animations, 2 extra hidden bosses, "swirling" water animation (PS version was static) and badly compressed cinemas iirc.

Not known, there's conflicting reports both ways.

I hear the video has been "softened" to rid of jaggies, but it ends up just blurring everything.

Also, who are these two extra bosses? I have the Saturn version, but haven't really played it much since getting it first came out.

Yep. A lot of companies do this to their 8bit collections for some reason. :/

Wood Man and Cut Man from MegaMan 2.

edit-Also the Saturn version included an extra artwork gallery with both fan submissions and official Capcom illustrations as well a a music/voice test. None of this was in the PS version.

Yeah I remember this quite clearly. I loved the commentary given to the some of the boss ideas from little kids.

The remixed soundtrack better be in there. I'm having doubts though cause I'm sure this collection is gonna have to suck ass somehow. I would kill for a remixed Mega Man 2 soundtrack

don't think so. slightly cleaned up, they appear to me. and definitely line-doubled and bilinear filtered. but it doesn't bug me. YMMV.

also different (better) music for tenguman's stage.

and there are remixed tracks strewn throughout the NES games' soundtracks. it's not complete.

I have the PS2 version and it's very good. However, it's sad that the soundtrack isn't completely remixed.

Anyone know if the MM PS1 games had the whole soundtrack remixed or only a selected list of tracks?

Yep. Megaman 1, 2 and 3 just got half the music remixed. There was indeed something that had to suck about this game Wario64 ;)

I have a MMAC question. How do you unlock stuff in this game. I have beaten four of the games, yet only unlocked two songs and a picture set. Do you have to beat the final stages without continuing? I suspect this since I first noticed unlocked items after doing so in MM6, and I don't think I had to continue.

Yeah, the Megaman 8 intro video is pretty bad. :\ It's a shame too, because it's a very awesome anime clip, and the song kicks solid ass.

While we're on the subject of this: Anybody know how to unlock the Megaman Power Battles?

Defeat the eight bosses in MegaMan 3. That is how I unlocked the game. Listed thw wrong game for a second there, you unlock the cartoon when you beat the bosses in MegaMan 8 in the PS2 version.

To unlock the Power Battle games on PS2, beat Mega Man 3 for Power Battle 1, and beat the first 4 robot masters in Mega Man 7 for Power Battle 2.

In the GameCube version you only need to beat the first three bosses to unlock Power Battles 2. JUST IN CASE.

It's worth beating all 4, though, because then you get to play the awesome Ghouls n Ghosts-inspired Shade Man level. Hold 'Square' when selecting him for a kickass GnG 1st level tune remix!

Yeah I know, everyone else probably knew about this trick 10 years ago, but somehow it slipped by me. I'm lovin' it!

I saw Penelope Cruz in soho onetime. She doesn't look much like herself in the movies, but maybe I saw her on an off day. She's a tiny little thing.

Salma Hayek is fucking perfect.

Kristen Kreuk is perfect, but Salma is certainly very, very nice.

Ho. ly. crap. You bumped this for that?

AND ITS THE WRONG THREAD. Are you like drunk, high, blasted, wasted, plastered, baked, smashed, slammed, what?

I'm sitting here reading the responses, and then I come up this and wonder what the fuck?I can't believe he bumped an almost year old thread to post a reply in the wrong area.

No wonder the forum was so fucking slow and the search option is gone....
Talk about something important, like the new Zelda trailer, gosh!

Someone bumped my ancient thread!

I'd like to take this moment to whine about Atomic Planet's general inability to decently port games.
