Men's Skincare Help and Suggestions

GAF Bros! I need some recommendations for good facial skincare products. What are some of your trusted brands to fill out a basic skincare routine? Particularly a Cleanser, Moisturizer, Sunscreen, and Exfoliator. What are you guys using? I'm getting older and I'm being told that I should stop washing my face with shampoo.

This shit is magic for your face.

Edit: I have also heard that CeraVe's exfoliating products are particularly good.

It's about getting the balance between scrubbed raw from over washing and now dried out and flaking versus sweaty, oily, greasy and hasn't been washed in 4 days.

You can get away with lukewarm water for regular washing in the shower (low pressure water on the face and gentle washing with hands and then patted dry with a clean towel) for a few days. I recommend a very mild facial cleaning product and then I use

"lé mara MOISTURISER
Marine Routine Step 4 A unique blend of organic seaweeds Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide
Bakuchiol, Olive Squalane" except I use step 2 or 3 which is a serum and only put the moisturiser on if my face will be exposed to wind or something.

I had hell acne from age 10-24. Like my face looked like a cluster of volcanoes in various states of eruption. Like Berkin's arm in Resident Evil 2

My face looks amazing these days tho thank Jesus

1. Cleanse with micellar water and textured cotton round
2. Wash with CeraVe and pat dry
3. Apply 10% niacinamide serum with zinc
4. Apply a drop or two of squalane to seal it all in
5. Moisturizer
6. sunscreen I guess? I don't use it unless I'm going to be in the sun the whole day. I'm brown

Limit using shampoo to wash your body. Shampoo is meant for hair and generally harsher as it's meant to wash oily hair.

As a stupid side tip because I've heard about it, dont wash your dishes with laundry detergent either even if youre desperate for a cleaner. Laundry stuff is more powerful than than dish soap and you dont want any remaining residue on dishes and then you eat some of it by accident.

I do envy girls a little bit for always bit, with it being more common for them to be brought up with greater emphasis on taking care of their skin and just general beauty routines, because I'm with you OP, I feel clueless about this kind of crap sometimes. Especially when it comes with trying to maintain my face, because whenever I've tried putting lotion on my skin, I find it makes everything too slippery, so I don't know if I'm using too much even though I just use a drop. Then there's the facial hair, which makes mixing some products harder to get into my skin. Even stubble can be in the way. Woman know the cheat codes for good skin, and I'm still trying to not look like I'm half dead.

Natural oils are far cheaper and not filled with random dubious chemicals... A few drops of castor oil or organic coconut oil once in the morning and once before bed will take care of it entirely

coconut oil really is a miracle substance. Great for your stomach too, and proven to aid fat loss significantly. Has a higher smoke point than almost any other oil so is great for cooking too.

Baby oils are good for the skin, helps retain skin moisture. (check your skin type, though)
Don't let the Diddy memes deter you.

Find out what type of skin you have, then look at products for that type. (Oily, dry etc). Clinique For Men will be able to sort you out no matter the type.
If that's too expensive just stick to something like 'Simple', less chemicals. Tea tree is useful if you have frequent blemishes.

Get skin cancer and have to get high intensity UV phototherapy...does wonders for your complexion :P

Alternatively, aggressive chemical peel for that youthful appearance.

Yo....as someone with "greasy hair (well...whats left of it) and an oily face" here is what I use and have used for almost two decades at this point.
Links to amazon in the US. I know this stuff is expensive...but each one of scrubs I use in the shower lasts me at least 12months and the shaving cream/after shave balm last me 6 months.

In the shower every day:
Anthony's Facial Scrub - I use about half a pump/ a nickel size amount.
Anthony's Algae Wash - I use about half a pump/ a nickel size amount.

When I shave:
Anthony Shave Gel - about a quarter sized squeeze for each side of my cheek/neck (have a beard)
Anthony after shave balm - I use about a dime sized squeeze for my neck and upper face.

Before bed: If I am feeling really gross (which I will be honest is MOST nights) I will wash my face with this:
Anthony Face Wash - I use a full pumps worth.
