I have something of a complex history with both the creators of Penny Arcade and Hothead Games, so I'm not sure that my opinion is completely unbiased. Truth be told, if I didn't feel like I had to play the series, I probably would've stopped halfway through the first episode. However, I'm glad that I did get the second episode, as it is considerably improved in every way. While ep1 is merely okay, ep2 is far more confident. It's bigger, deeper, has better puzzles, characters, and dialogue. I have a problem with the cursing for the sake of cursing (it's distractingly not funny) and some of the more disgusting attempts at humor, but I still enjoyed my time with them. If the third and fourth episodes are as big an improvement as the second one was, the series will be an easy recommendation.
