Well I scored pretty well for gaming gifts today - Simpsons Hit And Run and an IOU for Metal Gear Solid 3 THANKS VERY MUCH ATARI AUSTRALIA FOR DELAYING MGS3 TILL FUCK KNOWS WHEN IN 2005 YOU LOUSY COCK LICKERS.

So I figure that tonight I'll be playing some of these new fangled "video games" that you kids like so much and was wondering if there's anything in particular I should be loading up to see what happens when the system clock is December 25...

(Yeah I know I could just change the clock to Dec 25 any time, but cheaters never win)

Just about any MMO will have some kind of Christmas theme. And Phantasy Star Online.

For offline games: Black & White, on Christmas the advisors will say Christmas stuff. Sonic Adventure had something, don't recall what. Animal Crossing of course. Ready to Rumble 2 had extra costumes on Christmas. Enemy Zero on Saturn had a Christmas message. Atelier Marie on Saturn, Marlone tells you that there isn't Christmas in whatever the town was called in the game

Oh, and you realize that Simpsons Hit & Run has a little Christmas surprise too, right?

Tyrian 2000

Damn, beat me to it. I just found Tyrian (DOS) on my parents' old Win98 P200, and it runs decently. (Couldn't even get 2000 to work in XP.) It's a really cool game -- a lot of care went into it. I don't recall ever seeing the Xmas mode before today. ^_^

Wish I could play this at home, 3000 miles away. -_-

I booted it up today and the main menu had Homer in a Santa suit and an Xmas tree in the corner of the room. Cute I'd go and try Road Rage but my stupid gaming monitor is on the fritz for a few hours. D'oh!!

I've noticed Katamari Damacy has a few little Christmas elements, at least in Make A Star 2. Santa figurines are all over the place in the yard (I think they're standing in for lawn gnomes, but it's been a while so I can't be sure), there's a row of paper snowflakes across the door leading outside, and you can find a New Year's card on the table (collecting it prompts the King of All Cosmos to say "Happy New Year!"). I don't know if these elements are specific to today or if they're simply seasonal, but it's just one more reason to love the game.
