Not that the blue light does any damage; eye strain and other stuff

Different theories are out there about why computer screens cause your eyes to need corrections; either way eye strain alone would love him to have a dark theme
i've asked lots of ophthalmologists over the years, opinions are all over the place

I'm sure if the mothers of some console warriors on GAF read their post history, they'd say the same.
If their kids are any indication, those mothers would be the ones to storm onto GAF and sternly tell us to stop picking on her son and to stop mocking their family yacht.

You're getting backtraced.

And the consequences will never be the same.

Can't say I relate. I'm usually proud of my shits. The bigger the better

History of stomach issues since I am a child. It blows my mind and hole that some people just go and push out a perfect turd and walk away most of the time. Thats like 1/50 for me.

Maybe Ray Tracing will help. Sure as hell wont be the SSD.

Someone thought I was the actual actor who played Chunk. I had to explain I am just a big Goonies fan. Thought the name was clearly a joke.

Name change still another month away

Watched the Cosmos episode explaining the double-slit experiment. So fascinated. Makes me want to become a physicist despite sucking at physics.

Tesseract Tesseract I'm guessing you're very familiar with this. Do you know exactly what the detector is doing around the slits that could be changing the behaviour of the particles? I see a lot of comments on youtube saying that observation collapses the wave function of the particle, but how? Which precise part of the observation technique is causing this? It doesn't happen when they leave the detector there while off, so something happens while it's on.

Particles and waves behave differently. The notion that a waveform can be collapsed into a particle when observed implies some very interesting things about reality.

For instance, a star that is 1,000,000 light years away fires a beam of light that sails to the earth. If the light is observed by striking your eye, it was a particle the whole time, but if it was unobserved, it behaved like a wave the whole time.

This is the time-bending paradox of quantum physics (or at least the current theories as they stand).

How do we know how it behaved back in time?

TheContact TheContact I am not fighting for the fact the surface isnt perfect, and theres enough evidence to show they had issues especially with the first 3 gens including the RT but gen 4-8 has been more than stellar.

I work in IT and work on Macs all day. MacBooks for the most part are solid but IMacs are terrible. We have basically said we are going to stop using them entirely going forward. Ipads can be extremely rough. We had an entire set of about 200 all have digitizer problems where the digtizer slowly started raising and made them useless. It took us literally 3 months to get Apple to fix them on their dime because they were convinced it was on out end.

But my point isnt to start a war of this my brand is better than you brand. The surface lines issues are usually osftware based as Microsoft can't seem to get updates on 10 right for some reason. The article that was linked was:

A. From 2017.
B. Never said what the issues were.

Were they hardware? I highly doubt you had 25% of hardware breaking. I dont believe that for a second. Did that include people saying that had software issues? I would bet it did.

It was a pointless, outdated, article with no real data that was flung as tyring to throw shit into the console wars.

Edit: Also I linked an article showing Consumer Reports the next year added surface line back to their "recommended" line. No one seemed to care about that. Wonder why? CR hasn't exactly been known for being clear with their testing methods as well. They talk a lot but never do any kind of experiment other than saying they asked the most basic questions.

I agree, and 25% seems ridiculosuly high and I didn't put a lot of faith in that article, only my personal experiences. My co-worker has a surface and he loves it. I did mention I was only familiar with 1st and 2nd gen and I heard great things about the third gen but haven't used one or had the need to repair one. The surface issues I experienced were all hardware fails where parts had to be physically replaced in order to restore it--nothing software related. Plenty of people I'm sure are still using their g1 surface with no issues. Sometimes you just get burned with bad hardware that leaves a shitty taste in your mouth. I was burned by Dell servers and Seagate SAS drives a few years ago so I still have a hard time recommending them today, though I'm sure they've improved significantly over the past few years. The post with that bad article did seem unnecessary in a console thread though, I agree.

I would have to assume cooling was the issue with Gen 1 RT and 2. Device was a bit before its time. PLus the Stand was such a dumb design only having 1 or 2 angles. I swear to god all they did was sit one person down in front of it and said, ok place it where you can see it. And then took that as the sample.

Just curoius, what was the part you saw fail most in the devices you saw?

i'm a little stoned right now

piggybacking off what i said somewhere else: the mechanics dictate that continuous measurement of object position imposes random back action limits, such that precision sensing of position, velocity, and acceleration become impossible as randomness translates with time into positional uncertainty, leading to uncertainty on the measurement of motion itself

probability density describes the behavior of quantum systems, the interference pattern is more wave than particle because the contiguous nature of reality allows us to perceive things that have only already taken place

in this way you cannot know what you will get until you try something, so when something does something to something else with an intent to steer the process back toward the target's initial value, the wave function collapses and you end up in one reality portal or another

the point is, when you aren't looking, electrons act like waves, when you are looking they act like particles

the detector on the slits localizes the phenomena, and so do you, which is to say you become entangled with the electron(s) that collapse the reality portals into branching universes

I promise you its not as smart as you think. I made the mistake of replying to a DM from someone who said they were genuely curious about a few things in the tech realm and after literally typing out thousands of words and trying to help, I was met with a, " I think you're missing something, we will see throughout the gen." And this was about how TF are calculated. Something that can't be calculated any way other than the one way its been done.

Yeah...they think they are smart.

Im the idiot who put time into it though.

DunDunDunpachi DunDunDunpachi Tesseract Tesseract Apologies if this is a stupid question, but when it's said that photons travel in waves, it's kind of confusing, but adding that they travel in lines if observed adds another layer of confusion. When we say a photon or electron travels in a "wave" (until it collapses), precisely what is the wave-like nature of the motion / behaviour or structure of them pre-collapse?

Color is determined by the wavelengths of light. Frequency gets fucky with everything it touches, so I expect the frequency/wavelength of light has other natural properties as well.

I know, but what I mean is, what exactly is the form of the wave? Can a single photon travel in a wave? is the photon's structure different as a wave or only its motion?

things can get a little confusing from here, a good place to start is with the probability density and phase of atomic orbitals

does it trigger you when you hear shit blowing up in your SHMUPS while you kill shit in space? Or noises in general?
