I heard Todd Howard prefers iPhones to Androids
And Bill Gates prefers Pepsi over Coke

I think the current ignore feature is a bit pointless because all it does is remove the posts of the person you ignore, they can still see your posts though, so they can be talking shit about your posts and you wont even realize.

Users should not have the ability to limit what other users on this site see. You want to gimp yourself, that's your call.

So many people are calling for the bans of others, usually in a Sony vs. Microsoft context, these days, and are so unhappy with their thread reading experience here, they're willing to drive their account to a permanent ban over it.

(I already did my own Meta posting, and thoughts on bans, a week ago, so I'm not getting any more involved in that, or taking a side, or whatever. I feel like there's a line inbetween offering an opinion, and nagging about everything, and I want to stay on the former)

There's a really simple answer to that. I'm not saying it's the answer, but why not use the ignore button to save yourself a lot of grief?

If things are that miserable, if you have to leave the forum for days, etc., these posters you want banned obviously have no value to you. So why not silence them, and have the ideal Gaf experience you crave?

It might not be the solution you want, but it is a solution, and well worth considering.

This is a desert eagle, which is bigger than any 10mm (look at that ammo what the hell 343) held by a giant (he is 6'9)...that is still shorter than MC.

The solution is simple; people need to man-up, be mature and learn how to debate without running off to mam n dad with claredanes cryface.

Ok, that was an immature way of saying it, i'll try again:

Not every criticism is a personal attack. Self-reflection died years ago, which only left the reflection coming from others in your close knit circle. Nowadays everyone takes any criticism of their online persona so seriously that it damages them as a person.

While i'm not religious or not not religious/anti-religious, i think there is a whole lot to be gained from seeking out spirituality. Unfortunately, the 'magic' of the Gods has been replaced by the coldness of Science, which has spawned the Demon, Satan, that is the emotional lie of social media.

Sum this up in those beautiful words like you usually do Arcadia.

This game was made by women, they have their husbands telling them every night that 10mm is |____________________________|
MASTER CHIEF IS FUCKING 7'2! HIS HANDS LOOK TINY! A 10MM GLOCK (I think) SHOULD LOOK TINY IN HIS HANDS!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I only play games that are 100% realistic

Halo is the pinnacle of non-fictional story telling in modern times
Realistic proportions included
Previous games had sidearms at more realistic sizes. It just looks off tbh and feels like a troll more than incompetence.

The game isn't even out yet >.>

Give it some time for further polish and such
If it comes out and has giant guns, then we just learned that MC is actually Duke Nukem on a redemption arc so it's all kosher man

I'm not interested in getting anyone banned. I just want to be able to discuss gaming without the usual suspects thinking they're funny by shitting their fanboy shit all over the place. Perhaps I should make use of that ignore button.

I actually hate using the report button because it feels like I'm whining to the mods and they'll get fed up with me 😂

If I'm annoying or being overly critical to the point that people on the Xbox side can't tolerate it...please let me know, I don't actually want to aggravate anyone. I sometimes get caught up in things and go too far....

Oh i dont really. I have put 2 people on ignore in my time here, and one of those was DanielsM, and that was for the sake of my sanity. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I was just saying ignore is a bit pointless if the person you ignore can still see all your posts. Thats just me though.

You need to fight the good fight when someone is annoying, don't read their posts : D

So I actually have been thinking about this ignore button thing. Would it be possible to request the feature when ignore is pressed it ignores both sides automatically? It might not seem necessary but removing the text form being visible by the person blocked would in my mind lead to better conversation flow and discourage banter that's not productive in many threads.

Maybe I'm crazy but it sounds good in my head.
And what would the use be? Log out and you can read whatever you want. This is not a me-me-me-platform like Facebook, but a community, so barring others from reading your posts does not fit the platform from my pov.

Okay, first of all, this was the most rewarding image search result I have had in my life. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I agree wholly, but I do feel like this particular situation is more than I-can't-deal-with-people that-disagree-with-me, that some of these complaints have merit (even if the people themselves often don't). That's as far as I'll offer my personal opinion on that.

You're completely right, though. So much reporting, ban begging, etc., from adults who are 30, or sometimes even 40, literally treating adults their same age like their parents, and asking them to make the bad people/opinions go away.

(The part about the only criticism they'll accept is from their own groups and sides is especially insightful. This being out of control is why so much social commentary these days is prefaced by a declaration of identity; 'As a ________, I believe this')

I also agree about spirituality. I'm not particularly religious, but it's clear that some of the ground rules a good religion sets are something that society and people can truly benefit from, both here and in the real world.

Btw, thank you. : )

It's like he said, you and your avatar are too jovial. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You're fine. That's a super-cool post, though.

People that troll and create a worse environment for everyone, generally are aware of and know exactly what they're doing.

As cliched as it may sound, why fix what's not broken? I've kept quite on the ignore feature because I feel things are fine the way they are. You can't take anything to seriously that is typed on the internet. I'm not an ignore warrior and I try to avoid ever using it; but it's enough if you can't read or see material the said ignored person is posting.

Note: Remember, this is NeoGAF and not the other place -- peace and love!

Edit: Never mind. Im clearly in the minority on this one and not worth the discussion in my opinion as its not popular.
