Anyone else having problems with the frames in full screen, runs like a beauty at 60FPS in windowed mode with everything on max settings, runs at 24FPS in full screen, what gives :(

Not very. You're talking a game with multiple publishers, a game that was a critical bomb, and a game we were only involved in a very strict capacity (Grasshopper -> Ubisoft -> Marvelous AQL -> Konami).

Any relevant teams behind these development projects have since dissolved, making that even more difficult. We'd have to see an significant increase in demand of these products... Not so say it's impossible, but just unlikely at this time.

Are people pleased with the success at MGR internally? Or are there very neutral reactions to the sales numbers?

MGSV?

Finished the game on Normal, gonna start a Hard playthrough on NG+. Don't care if it was relatively easy, it was challenging enough, and figured out how the parry worked quickly enough to not have my ass handed to me by Blade Wolf. Hell, Blade Wolf was great timing practice. Round 2 on Hard Mode is probably gonna be a bit more difficult, though.

Game's amazing, though I am annoyed by how some enemies like to gang up on me with ranged weapons while I'm wailing on someone. As far as boss weapons go, Mistral's is the one I'm most comfortable with, it's got fantastic range (excellent for crowd control), fast, and easy to use. Also, the game isn't terribly clear on which few attacks I shouldn't bother parrying, it's kinda obtuse like that.

Though, thankfully, it runs like a dream on my years-old hardware setup (it's a Dell XPS system that originally came with a Geforce 8800, though it's had a couple of gfx card updates since than, and the current one is apparently merely adequate at the moment).

I want a PC version of El Shaddai so badly. Incredible presentation and unbelievable art design that was a bit hindered by terrible aliasing and the low resolution. Really unique, great game.

Ay yo ToraShiro, thank whoever the man responsible for optimizing the game was! I've never had a PC game work so smoothly and flawlessly out of the box, usually take a bit of fiddling for me to get things just right but MGR just worked.

Also maybe next time could we get an option to not install the uncompressed cutscenes? This game really didn't need to be 23 gigs! But regardless it was a fantastic port and I for one am impressed at just how feature rich the setting menu is for a port!

Even if people are upset about the 1080p locked resolution, I still think it was an fantastic job!

Does a successful block mean a successful parry?

Sort of, you'll know if you got a counter parry because raiden will automatically do a follow up underslash and the sound effect is different. That attack landing 9/10 times will initiate an execution prompt. A block is just a parry that went out too early so Raiden will just deflect the blow.

Yeah, a few people here. Myself included. I haven't been able to keep up with the thread, so I don't know if a decent workaround was found. A temporary solution is to put it in windowed mode and then use the Borderless Window Gaming program that was posted in here, but when I use BWG it cut out a fairly significant portion of the screen.

Thanks. I'll give it some practice tomorrow. Too tired to llay beyond the first mission. Glad I picked Hard as suggested here since it still feela easy right now.

Can you tell if sales are looking good, ok or bad? I mean, has it met expectations?

is this a problem like crysis 1 & 2 that ran at 24 Hz when fullscreen.

extract and execute this like I did back in the day:

Change your desktop resolution to a custom 1920x1079 at 60 hhz, then load the game as usual and the game works fullscreen at 60hz, you do not need to select this resolution in the game as it does not show customs.

When I went to windowed mode, it fixed the issue. Since then I have gone back to fullscreen and the FPS hasn't gone below 60.

Something I noticed. When it works, I find the game not very taxing for my gpu at all. In fact, I think its the only game I have where my gpu doesn't ramp up its core clock to full speed (gtx 780, stays at like 500mhz instead of 1100)

So during the end of the (very early game)
Ray
fight when
Raiden is flung into the clock tower and he normally gets up and runs down it, instead he crashed into nothing at all and was laying down frozen forever as Rules of Nature continued playing and particles were still floating about and whatnot

And then when I opened OBS to record it because I thought it was funny my computer crashed

yet I'm still having an amazing time god bless you MGR

also I have just had 2 people tell me they heard about the same glitch happening and I don't feel cool anymore god dammit

They were included.

Gooood goooood, I too have been hoping for a Vanquish PC port for years since I first played it. That game is one of my all time favorites and playing it with a mouse at 60fps (never mind the resolution) would be so delicious.

If it turns out anything like the MGR PC port then things are definitely looking good.

I'm having an issue where anything above medium graphics detail runs the game at about 1/4 the speed. Everything is in slow mo and i'm guessing the FPS are way down (I haven't measured). I have a higher than 1080 display (2560x1600@120hz) connected over displayport like any respectable PC gamer in the 21st century, I'm running a i7 2600k with 16GB DDR3 and 2 6990's in xfire. I see that there is a massive and still growing list of work arounds for this game which is highly disappointing given it was my favorite game I played last year.

how am I supposed to beat
metal gear excelsus
?
I'm on normal and can't do shit to him

When he tries to hit you with the arm/blade from above then block/parry/dodge and hit it before he lifts it up again.

Continue until he tries to stomp you with his leg. Then dodge and hit before he lifts it.

A QTE will trigger after you take enough health down.

Hey, turned of HT and still the same result, 40FPS in High Zangeki mode.

CPU: Intel I7 930 2.8 OC'ed @ 4.1Ghz
GPU CARD: Nvidia MSI GTX 690
Corsair Dominator GT 6GB Ram 2000mhz

Is your GPU defaulting to a lower clock? I honestly can't see why it's dropping frames. I have an i5 750@3.9ghz a 770 and standard ram and I get 60 in Zangeki.

Does it drop automatically or only after you start cutting things?

Update on the Online bug: The fix has been implemented and the auto-update has been switched from 'off' to 'on'! Booting up the game should now result in Steam automatically patching the issue.

Hate to belabor a point, but we are still kinda new to handling this and have been working on addressing the issue ASAP on our side. We apologize for the issue in the first place, and hope that it hasn't impacted your enjoyment of Rising on the whole.

Thx a lot. Great port and really enjoying it so far. Please bring more MGS title on Steam ! :p

Thank you, but what about the resolution issue, glaringly larger than the offline bug imo.

I can tell if sells are looking good, ok, or bad. But I can't publicly remark on it without violating certain company policies, sourry. If it does really well, look forward to our carefully crafted PR release to be footnoted on press sites everywhere.

Thank you for the update, it is very much appreciated, and luckily for myself it has not impacted my enjoyment of Rising!

Personally I would just remove D3DOverrider entirely, last time I tried it it would conflict with all post processing injectors like SweetFX and such. So I just use RadeonPro for triple buffering.

Thanks again! This fixed the issue I was having. I must need to mess with V-Sync settings some more though cause there is some pretty bad tearing only during the cut scenes.

I think people were more upset at the possibility of it not being a bug than the actual issue. Don't worry, since it was a bug and it's fixed, I don't think people will mind.

got it, thanks! I'm terrible at this game :D

Yeah, Blade Wolf is pretty much a "Have you learned how to parry yet?" pop quiz.

I learned this the hard way. Well, at least I learned how to parry like a boss against him, hahaha!

People ain't kidding: LEARN TO PARRY. Without it most bosses will eat you alive. The game suddenly becomes a ninja walk/run, pun intended. It's a matter of learning the enemy timings and, bam, parry, parry, parry, then slash slash slash, CHOP CHOP CHOP and JOY!

edit: After I got accustomed to the controls instantly went from Rank D all the time in the fights to A/S/B and such.

Is there a fix for the game running in 50 fps at full screen?

If you're an Nvidia user, just make a custom res in your Nvidia Control Panel and apply it to your desktop before launching the game.

If you're an AMD user, there's an easier fix using RadeonPro, but I don't have any knowledge on that.

So what about the 50fps limit on forced Vsync can you comment on that is that even a concern for anyone?
