I know alot of people here love the game but I think the gameplay is one of the most underrated things in MGS3. Most people just say story is great, while it is the gameplay is even better.
The freedom the player gets is amazing, and so is the level design and everything. Its so amazing how much care is put into making each and every environment. Hell some of the environments not used in MGS2 (from the Document) looked better than most games like SC.
In MGS3 the environmnets are more like a Sqaure rather than a long hallway in games like SC, RE4 whatnot. Everytime I play the game its something different, there isnt a single time I popped the disk and did the ame thing I did before. Some of the linear places are the caves but thats about the only place where its very linear, but even than they are so many different ways of going and exploring.
I one time captured three birds alive and went inside a little room and let them out. It was so funny because they couldnt get out and kept bumping in the wall and each other. Haha, I love just messing around and finding new things in the game, and to this day I find something new every time. I've played the game for more than 100 hours and still I can pop it in a play it anytime.
