Metal Slug X Announced for Steam (apparently), Releases 10/2

Bigger question is where the fuck are the KOF UM games already?

http://steamdb.info/app/222440/history/

Haven't been updated in 5 months and the listings were discovered a year ago along with KOF 13. It's possible that both games have been cancelled but it doesn't make any sense as it's a fairly simple port to make.

I want to play as Nameless and be a tier-whore scumbag already.

Looking forward to this.

I wish there was a way to have stage 1 with daylight just like MS2, personal preference.

As an arab, I would also like to mention how some of the words/sentences in the first stage are nicely done and funny.

I found some years ago that the sign in the first state are mostly playful, but I have wondered how the arab world views the whole thing - I mean, by default you have a blond guy mowing down a bunch of bearded guys with turbans and scimitars, with the option to ride a camel along the way. Sounds like an explosive stereotype cocktail that could easily offend people from the arabic regions, yet no signs of outrage ever reached me, although SNK seems to enjoy some popularity in those regions.

At the same time, the MS games I played do an interesting job of setting the tone with their first stages: the 1st evokes a european world war setting, and tends to stick with it, the 2nd goes more a more exotic, silly and international tone ending by dealing with
an alien invasion
when it runs out of Earth to travel around, and MS3 starts out by having you dealing with mutant crabs and then zombies before
taking the fight to the mothership of the aliens from MS2/X
in the greatest final level ever.

I just 1cc'd this yesterday. Best run and gun of all time.

I think I did a 4-5 cc clear at a bowling alley years ago. Felt cool to do it with the spare change in my pocket.

Metal Slug Anthology description said:
Originally released to improve upon some technical issues found in Metal Slug 2, this update also implemented several changes to beef up the gameplay, such as new enemies, a different end boss layout and a number of new weapons and secrets. The result is a better game and one of the finest chapters in this series.

The story is that the antagonist, General Morden (the leader of the Rebellion) is bent on taking over the world and made an alliance with
Aliens
to help him with his plans.
But the Aliens had other plans.

Why not just release an anthology like they did on Wii? I dont understand why they have to keep releasing these titles on different formats individually.

KoF 98UM and 2002UM seem like a more likely addition (although 98 Final Edition would be preferable).

Hopefully SNKP and Steam will get round to adding a few other pearls.

Your post gave me an excuse to post this banner:

But I'll post this logo to keep on topic.

No one knows what version of 98UM they're working on. There's a good chance that it's FE considering FE is on Nesica X Live and is even free to play in China on Tencent's network (the F2P scheme is pretty bad and offers no training mode and only 2 credits to play). I was expecting both UM titles to be available by now but so far SNKP and the devs (and it's assumed it's the same devs who did the Steam Port of KOF 13) are keeping mum on it.

Really hoping they can implement GGPO this time.

They get more money this way. Plus each individual game features online play whereas Anthology lacked any kind of online.
