METAL WOLF CHAOS demo on new OXM Disc

Such awesome news, it deserves a thread of its own. This is the same disc with the Conkey and Forza demos. But, it's hidden....

Thanks to Chi-Town.

This and the stealth Phantom Dust demo are the coolest shit they've put on their disc in ages. I'm gonna hook myself up with that right after work today.

DFS.

It's cool they are offering these extra demos, BUT WHY ARE YOU MAKING US INPUT CODES TO UNLOCK THEM?

For fucks sake.

I dont understand why it's hidden. What's the point in hiding it?

I'd like to know this also. A game as quirky as this needs all the attention it can get. Did OXM promise to only have X amount of demos on their disc, and this is a way around that? It doesn't make much sense.

Most people won't know about it so I agree why hide it. Because they need to be uber cool and have an easter egg? Who cares, I didn't even play Phantom Dust because I didn't want to take the time to look up the code.

You're missing out on a really fun game. I was addicted to it before the big games came out.

Same here. Make it easy to play a demo. Doing no service to the game by keeping it hidden.

It's kinda easy to guess. When you press the buttons the controller begins to shake so even though it could take a bit to guess it, the shaking helps.

I have no idea why they hide them. I've received the magazine since the first one (before the Xbox was even out and before they had demos) and I just now learned that they hide demos. I have missed out all this time on demos now. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to do this. They are only hurting themselves, the developers who went to the trouble to make them that demo and also hurting us, their customers... most of us have no idea about this shit. Stupid ass OXM!

I think it has something to do with the fact that the developers of both Phantom Dust and Metal Wolf Chaos have yet to announce the North American publishers. For forum readers like us, we already know this.

But if there was no secret code, Casual User Joe (who has a monthly subscription to OXM), digs both PD and MWC on the demo discs and starts looking for the game on store shelves, this could be a problem.

Of course this could easily be remedied if OXM simply but an "IMPORT" tag on the game to avoid confusion.

How does one find the code anyway?

For Phantom Dust:

On the December 04 OXM disc go to the main menu, hold down the left trigger, and press:

A, U, X, Y, L, R, B, B, D, D, Y, L, X, R, A, U, D

They've only hidden 3 demos. Phantom Dust, Metal Wolf Chaos, and a 2nd appearance of Ninja Gaiden. Usually the easter eggs have been video trailers(and none of them have been must see stuff). Also, these easter eggs aren't much of a secret, they mention them on the page where they list the demos on that's issue's disc. They even give you the code for last month's disc.

Although OXM has improved quite a bit of late, they still tend to cater to the 12-year old fanboi mentality, who think hidden secret codes and such are like totally cool and stuff.

What I meant was how does one figure out the code? But it's already been answered! Thanks anyway!

So, umm, apart from bitching about the stupidity of hiding stuff, has anyone actually played the demo already?
